I've finally figured out that buying a good base saves you money in the long-run.

So for my current project I've got $8,500 in the car, $1,500 in the wheels and $3,000 in suspension. Haven't had to do any maintenance on it yet, blessedly.

Got the car for $4500 a couple years ago. Was suppose to pay $6k but worked out a deal with my parents so they could claim me on their taxes and I wouldn't owe the remaining $1500 on my car. It was a win win situation for both of us.

Between wheels, tires, suspension, and materials to clean up the wheels that's pretty close to $2500 if not a touch more. On top of that I've done a bunch of other stuff, intake, battery relocation, short shifter, shifter bushing, and a bunch of other odds and ends.

So about $3500 for just aftermarket shit. That doesn't include any brake jobs or regular maintenance shit. I also have 2 sets of stock wheels with one set having winter tires and another with all season tires so there is a few hundred there.

All said and done close to $4k or so.

Would I do it over again? Probably, it was a fun learning experience since no one has done much with this model Kia.

          The Kia has been parted.

$950 for the car, $5000 for the engine build + conversion, $1500 for wheels and tyres and about $400 on random interior parts.

It pains me to think that I've nearly spent 8k on the car and I haven't started on the bodywork or have coilovers yet.

Funny thing is I've spent over $6500 on insurance over the last 2 years

After it told me it's sob story of falling on hard times, I'd offer to lend it a few quid(c wut i did thar) for rent money. I'd probably buy it's daughter a few outfits for school as well. Eventually, I'd take it to a family pic of mine and introduce it to everyone. We'd date for a while until a nice G35 came around and enticed me with the leather seats and navigation that I would never even use anyway. I'd end up breaking that tegs heart and it would walk on me. THAT'S how much I love this car.

Wouldn't ever want to really add it up but it hasn't been that bad, I would do it again in a heartbeat.
