  • The Feel Bad Thread

I got the idea from another forum, and it would be interesting to post on here.

Over the time you've owned your car, how much money have you dumped into it? Purchase price, parts, labor, ect? Would you do it all over again?

    I'll start.

I bought my car in 2008 for $4200. Over the course of the last four years, I've probably put another $4-5k into it. And it's still slow as fuck, and looks beat. But I would totally do it all over again.

We been together since 2008, I paid $12500 to get this fine lady in my possession. I would rather not talk about how much i put into her, but I know I wouldn't do it again. She was perfectly fine stock.

I paid $3,000 for my ti, I have about $1000 in the engine/reliability shit like alternator, starter, and maintenance items and fluids.
$500 in the h&r/Bilstein suspension because I lucked out and picked it up used.
      $150 in the headlights
$200 in new oem headliner/pillar covers
$100 in trim parts from DDM
      -and I'm picking up a $150 set of E38 style 5's in 16x8 et 23 this weekend.

Not too bad. I would probably do it again. I easily had $15k in the 95 M3 that I owned before this car.

$500 for the car, probably around $18k into it. If I were to do it again I would find a better example to start with.

Bought car for $2800, have spent $1500 on suspension, $1100 on wheels/ tires and probably $1200 on the v8 swap. So add on like, $1k for general maintenance so about $7600.

Thinking about this makes me sad. Probably $8-10k in the e36. Somewhere between $30-35k in the Jetta.

Haha, I play this game with my friends.

You can figure it out from my current build thread or my last partout. I don't have the desire to post the dollar amounts up.

Since August of last year. I bought the car for $4600, I have around 4k into it. Drives and runs a bit better, but it still needs a ton of shit. In maintenance/clean up alone by the end of this year I will have spent like 2.5k.. So yeah. If I had to do it all again, I'd get a car that wasn't neglected by the PO.

3 engines, multiple suspension setups, multiple wheels, lots of tires, couple of diffs, some interior and exterior stuff, etc. The first engine was a stock rebuild that was probably $1500, the first swap was about $3000, the next was about $5000, this new one will probably be right around $6000.

This is why I never add it up.
