While I had friends in high school that were into german scrapers, as they called them, I was into Jeeps. I eventually needed a commuter car as my Jeep was getting 9 miles to the gallon. I picked up a 2000 EM-1 and started checking out forums. The Si was fun, but the one I had was kinda falling apart. Around the time that I was looking at other cars I saw the Mike Burroughs E28 with a rusty hood and '80s boom box. The pictures were so nice and the response he was getting in JDM civic forums was hilarious. I went to check out the response on bf.c and didnt leave for quite a while... 't was then that I decided I needed a BMW, and I ended up with a yellow E36, influenced by this yellow E36 that I used to see on my way home from middle school. After all the **** at bf.c, I came here shortly after it started. I picked up a TDI Mk4 and had it sitting nice until i was t-boned, and I still feel the need to be low daily rather than just on the weekends...

My good buddy was looking to replace his e39, so I went with him to look at an e30 m3. This car was different it was low, and I mean really low, had some poke and camber as well. Safe to say I was enamored with the low lifestyle from then on. I myself was in 4x4 scene and having all the trails around my area closed. I had no need for a lifted truck anymore, so I decided to learn more and more about how things work and how things work properly. Which led me here.

This, saw Josh's feature on Stanceworks. Instantly fell in love with slammed cars. Now my car has turned into a piece of shit for being slammed. Fuck you very much Josh. <3

A Craigslist ad for a job. Filled it out, figured it'd be better than food running at the busiest restaurant in Chicago.

                Boy, was I right.

Well my dad has always been into aircooled volkswagens, and i grew up going to aircooled vw shows and helping my dad with his. So i ended up buying my own when i was 15. Slammed it of course, because that just the way i like my cars to sit. I've never owned a car that wasn't low, so it almost feels weird to me when i drive something that isn't low. its just what i'm used to

Rusty Slamington and Mike Bfurroughs brought me here.

But the low lifestyle started many years before.

After I bought my Kia, I never had the idea of modifying it at all. I just needed a reliable daily to get me to and from college. I then started liking the car more than I thought I would (it's a 5-speed so it mildly fun to drive) and I just decided I want to do something with it because no one ever does. I was lurking on a Kia forum and someone linked photos from here and I was like whaaaa, shits different and I like it.

So I started lurking here, joined the site and decided I wanted to do a stance build. It's taken a while because of lack of funds, but I'm finally almost done.

                      That's pretty much my story.

                      The Kia has been parted.

picked up a super street magazine on a weeklong field trip in 6th grade

later got a subscription to truckin bc my grandfather was into low-ish sporty trucks, i really wanted a laid out ram single cab short bed for a while

when i got closer to being 16 my friends were all into big trucks, so i guess they kinda had an influence on me and my first vehicle was a lifted 98 silverado z71 with tires, wheels, exhaust, lift, etc.

my dad had been driving german cars since i was born but i never drove any of his cars til i was 16 and drove his 745, loveed it but never thought about getting a car bc i loved my truck so much

2yrs later got tired of driving this huge truck around in the city so i started looking at cars, bmw was an obvious choice bc of how much i loved my dads car, joined e46fanatics and bimmerforums and lurked/tried to find a car there...was a huge fan of southpaws car e46 in the early 4x4 and slammed on CSLs stages

it was hard to find a 5speed anywhere near me and wasnt gonna settle for an auto, finally got one right before my senior year, paid $14k for it unfortunately. should have just waited another year or so and saved some money for an m3, but you live and you learn.

kept seeing mike borroughs (aka spasticdwarf on bf.c) sigs that said stanceworks and never knew what it was so finally decided to google that shit and thats when i stumbled upon this wonderful forum that i love.

Roughly 2002-2003 on Honda-tech there was a few dudes from cali that had these slammed cars and i thought it was the illest shit i've seen in my life. so i bought some skunk 2 "coilover sleeves" for my stock struts i cranked them all the way down and proceeded to style.

The definition for slammed back then and now is night and day too

10 years later BAM i own a suspension company.

                            Dream jobs.

Was into lowered cars (not necessarily stance) since I was a kid, literally. My father didn't believe in any car modified beyond stock. My mother was a gear head in her younger days; I guess I inhereted some of that passion. There was a mixture of lifted trucks and lowered, performance cars/trucks throughout highschool. I respected/respect both genres because of their presence on each side of the spectrum. Was always intersted in SuperStreet mags, lowrider, mini-truck, etc.

I have no idea how I stumbled upon Stance|Works, but here to stay for sure.

I actually met a guy on here about 3 or 4 years ago. He was the cousin of one of my GF's friends. We chilled a couple of times and I began to really enjoy the non snobby side of the euro car world. He later moved into my house for a few months, had some good times and made a good friend. Later on I realized I needed a euro car. Now I have my Volvo and found my way here.
