Hm...
my obsession with this stuff started back in the 90ies, when I was just a little kid. My dad was a gearhead back in the day, and somehow I ended up with my paws all over one of his car magazines, showing lots of nice Golf Mk1s on 9x14s and E30s on 9x16s and other stuff like this.
I started to realize back then, that a car has to be low and wide to look good.
When it came time to buy my first car, I was on some kind of japan-trip and wanted some japanese car, mostly a Celica T18. All the cars we looked at were crap however. My dad convinced me to look at a Golf. I fell in love with that thing, bought it and promptly registered on VW Vortex. Back then I was more of a conservative mindset (i.e. nice wheels that fit without modifications and a slight drop), because 'I didn't want to be one of those guys that slow down to a crawl before speedbumps'. Five years later and I have one of the lowest E36s in Germany.
As for how I ended up on Stanceworks... I sold my Golf and bought a E36 320i sedan and signed up on BFc. Went more in the right direction with this car with 17" Azev As and quite some low. Some time later I got a PM from a certain M. Bfurroughs, telling me 'I have a new forum. You need to be on it. Sign up.'.
