  • Stance works, but whats up on your job?

    Just wondering...

I'm in the real estate-business and use my car on the job, and customers see it. I get some questions about the lowering and the white theme from those who questions my car (youngers)... Some dont mind and others just ignores it.

But what about you and your cars? Do you give others a fuck or do you think its too much for work (not mine, just in general)? Please post pics of your (daily)work car.

    For example - totaly random:

Some of the customers probably judges me from the looks of my car.. But i just dont want to run it like this:
I dont have a pic of how my car sits right now, but i photoshopped it with the new wheels and stickers.

My boss got kind of annoyed by the number of people who would come in asking, "Does one of your employees own that red car? I see it here all the time, and I want some info on the wheels!".

My old purple truck was parked outside my old job every day, then our normal customers started asking where it was when I got rid of it.

I work at West Marine part time... boat supplies and such, my manager doesn't really care about cars so much so it just sits there. Haven't worked there long and haven't had anyone ask about it yet.

My other job is working for NOS Energy Drink... all of the employees drive modded cars, E30 getting swapped, E90 335xi lowered on VMR's, E46 328i, E36 325is, Audi A4, and then of course our work truck.

        My car.

I work as a detailer at a car wash, sometimes if I'd be drying cars people would ask who's car that is out front, always fun talking cars with other random car people.

Now my stock C5 gets no attention of course.

My manager and a few co-workers were talking out front of my work when I pulled up into the parking lot, slowed down to about 2mph over the speedbump and scraped most of the way.
                now, manager =

I also took a guy home from work one night and he thought it was pretty cool how low my car is. After I dropped him off though, he asked, "So, what kinda car is this again?" lol

Yeah, I'm the ass-clown that was eating a Chicken Leg in a hotdog bun last fall... I just didn't make it out to SYL because my girlfriend was in town.

I dont work currently but at school I am the lowest car on campus. People just stare at me when I drive by, or just stop and point when I try to overcome the school speed bumps without scraping. I was talking cars with a few automotive majors and they all asked what I drove and I told them just a low silver sedan. The one kid said "OH you are that mitsu that is dragging nuts all over campus" Just just about died laughing

I get a lot of comments at work. managers and other employees always asks me how i drive my car since its so low, i've had people say that its unsafe, looks dumb.

I was training a new girl one day and she asked me who left the broken bmw parked out there, i told her it was mine and that it wasn't broken it was just lowered, she just gave me a confused look

I also had another girl tell me it looks ghetto because of the polished wheels.

                        Haha, thats funny

Thanks for your replies! But i see your jobs aren't really the same as mine. My car is parked on the road in front of every house that customers want to see/buy. A lot of the (real estate) private owned cars are very anonym so that the customers don’t get impressions of "us" when they arrive. Just don’t think mine is that anonym. But still a lot of cars are kind of too bitchy for the real estate business in Denmark (Porche etc.)

But ppl just don’t understand the "low is a lifestyle". I’m sure some sees a young Fast and Furious guy/punk, not a normal guy with an addicted lifestyle

It's not about the car you drive, it's how you present yourself. That said, I think your car would be acceptable if you lowered it cleanly and added the white wheels- but the decals and stickers everywhere would scream "punkass" to me.

I've always kept this rule of thumb- if you're concerned with how your customers perceive you based on your car, think of how your parents would react. If they would look at you with a puzzled look and go "why?", then you're probably going to get the same reaction from other people.

That said, I get compliments on my car all the time where I work- but I work largely with engineers and guys that still like cars a lot. I get funny faces when I pull in and scrape the sidewalk and three-wheel into the upper lot, but most people dig it. There are also comments like, "doesn't your tire hit your fender a lot when your that low?"

I have both the highest car (in terms of height) and the lowest car (in terms of general output).
