I also recommend the NatGeo documentary on Netflix "How Beer Saved The World". It's a crazy insight into how beer was invented and how it changed history.

if you ever come to Croatia, heres some beers to try:

Tomislav beer.



this is a quote from an article. czech tourist came to holiday and wrote an article about beers you can buy/taste in Croatia and heres what he wrote about Tomislav beer:

it's a baltic porter, classic dark beer, with rich creamy foam, slightly bigger bubbles and brownish color. foam holds on until you drink whole glass, and leave circles in glass when you drink beer. bottle is almost black with ruby shade when you look at it in the light.
the taste is strong with bitter chocolate with a hint of toffees and plum. well balanced tastes, which are overlapping. pleasant alcohole aftertaste, mixed with fine bitterness.
its an 18? (grade or?) beer with 7,3% of alcohole. so really strong beer, so if you drink two bottles in the noon on a sunny day, you should lie down until it evaporates from you.

comes in light and dark variant. The owner of brewery returned from the Germany to Croatia and invested in brewery which makes Velebitsko beer under the german law of beer purity - Reinheitsgebot from 1516

imported beers - there are tons of them. we have lots of pubs and you can buy german, belgian, american, czech and other imported beers..like Duvel, Leffe, etc. sometimes in the stores you can even buy rare beer (for us) like Sapporo.
