I want to respray mine, but I like my stock color so I want to get a spare rear frame + battery box (which I already have) to get painted, so then I can just swap.
I have to do it in order to fit my extension, so I guess I'll find out. I'm going to do the extension, my re-jet, and remove my floorboard all at the same time.
Hopefully it won't involve pulling the seat frame, as that's an incredible bitch.
My OEM Service Manual is in the mail, I can post up what goes into pulling the frame once it arrives.
Thats discouraging to hear the seat frame is a bitch... seems like itd be easy?
In theory it should be, it's only because even the most expensive aftermarket seat frames don't *really* fit like OEM.
You have to get all four bolts in and then torque them down gradually. Your eyes will pop out when you see what angles the bolts stick out at initially before you torque them. It's absurd, I had one at a 45 degree angle. Just get all four barely in, then go around, quarter-turn each, until they're all tight.
If you're using the OEM frame, it's super easy, of course. Honda OEM tolerances rock, as usual.

hm. Well that bites, but i can probably manage. How did you like yours in terms of riding position? stock feels a tad cramped to me.

How tall are you?
I'm like 5' 10.5"
A lowered seat frame + stock bars seems to fit me perfectly riding in a "chopper" sort of position.
I'm putting PWJDM bars on this weekend, and I imagine it'll then become a bit of a reach, so I'll probably have to start sitting farther forward and get pegs, more like a sportbike.
I ride a 60+ mile roundtrip on mine in nice weather and it's totally comfortable. I'm sure all the mods will make it less comfortable and it will become more of a toy than a commuter, but cie la vie.
