I'm hitting 40/41 mph everywhere no. Dips 35 when up hill into the wind. I love it. I need a fat stretch and exhaust now.

I love the Honda Ruckus. I have been trying to find a Big Ruckus (250cc) for sale, but no luck. I would buy one if Honda still made them. The regular ruckus (50cc) just doesnt go fast enough. They top out at about 35.

more like 40-42. just get one and swap it to 150cc

This is the first time I'm hearing about that. Do you know anywhere that I can read up on the details of doing it? How fast can they go with a 150cc engine?

I hit 45mph just yesterday on my ruck. The speed of the 150cc swaps veries from swap to swap but my buddy's does 58mph on flats and close to 65mph downhill. thats fast on a 200lb bike

Or get a Grand Axis 2-smoker swap and 125cc Malossi big-bore and go like 75mph. You could still build this for less than the cost of a Big Ruckus.

EDIT: One guy (Pomeruck) did a 600cc swap from a Silverwing. Sky's the limit.

BigRuckus has NO aftermarket, so if you get one, either enjoy it stock or don't buy it. If you want a bigger-displacement bike, get a Reflex and throw a fatty, air suspension, etc on it. Tuned big scoots are tits.

could i use any bmx stem on any handle bars?

yes, but you'll need a shim, i forget the size. PWJDM sells em, or you can make your own.

You need to make sure the stem is made for whatever diameter your bars are, but otherwise, yes.




It was funny, I'd sold a 2005 to a 50 year old guy from Spain like two years ago. Lo and Behold, on my ride in today, I passed him on Rockville Pike. I slowed down, and we rode light-to-light the rest of the way in. Turns out he works like two blocks from me, crazy coincidence. I'm going to try to get him to come to the 6/19 ride.
