Im still friends with some exes, not on a regular basis, but I work on their cars (for money) and see them out on occasion, sometimes we will even ask each other advise on present relatioships. Depends on why we broke up and how they act now.

Don't think there's a definite rule on this subject. All depends on how was the break-up, why did it end etc.
I don't try to contact or keep in touch with any of my ex's, but sometimes it inevitable since we have mutual friends.
Personally I'm on good terms with all of them except one. What I mean by this is that if I run into them here and there I'll say hello and the usual social politeness.
And if we're at the same party I have no problems with any of them being there too. But that's it. Contact beyond this I don't do.
Think I've been lucky, since none of my ex's are the infamous "psycho ex" that seem to be the bane of many guys existance.

Definitely depends on the situation of the split...Usually its a waste of time, but there are a few ex's I definitely still talk to.

i personally dont see a big problem with it. you get feedback, someone to talk to. especially if it ended well
