  • JAPAN 8.9 Earthquake

I know we have a few members over there, So I hope everyone is alright.

I spoke to Loz earlier and he said it was huge, and lasted a lot longer then previous quakes. Where he was it was only around 5.something, but the power was shut accross most of japan, and as of 3 hours ago over 4 million people still had no power.

Some epic events are hitting the globe in 2011.

Still getting aftershocks now. Just had a 5.7 (much smaller where I am)

I just saw on the news there are hundreds of bodies in the water around Miyagi

They also just evacuated near a nuclear power plant as they're worried about radiation leaks

I don't think it will be that bad, Japan is a modern country prepared for this sort of thing.
I heard that they told the people to stay in their offices as they were safer than their homes.
Dude... My nissan has like a v8, man.

I hope this is the case... As I was saying to Loz, Christchurch has a 5. something quake and the whole city is in ruins, japan has this and most buildings aren't even phased. True engineereing over there, then again they are used to getting quakes I guess...

The quake didn't do much damage an they immediately had tsunami warnings but there'll still be plenty of deaths. The tsunami has affected huge areas, whole towns have been destroyed. It's scary sitting here watching the news, I'm glad I'm not near the coast.

I wish my Japanese was better so I could volunteer to help in some way
