  • Anyone else not really like TopGear America?

I don't really like it, but it's growing on me just because it's not like I'm not going to watch a show about cars...

We'll have to wait and see, but I doubt it will match the BBC... (rhyme)

It's better than i expected, but that's not saying much.

I can't find the 3rd episode anywhere, so i haven't seen that one

I definitely read this out loud.

And meh, I think it's alright. Obviously not the same delivery as Clarkson and the gang, but whatever.

          Saying this before Burroughs does.

Watch the first few seasons of TG UK, tell me it wasn't painful to watch. Now watch ours, ours is leaps and bounds ahead of where theirs was at the time. You gotta give these guys a break, its the 3rd episode, its a brand new show, and the first of its kind here in America. If you shoot it down now, we will have no real autoshows again. I thought the last episode was absolutely hilarious. Sure its not Clarkson, Hammond, and May, but it wouldn't be Top Gear America if it didn't. Sure their on screen personalities aren't strong yet, but give them time, once they really get to know each other, and how the show works I am sure that it will be a show that has you coming back. It already has me.

Don't kill it before it has a chance to grow.

It might be that I don't really care about American cars anymore...

              They reviewed a Mitsubishi EVO X the 1st episode... I don't think that's American.

Pssh i said that a week ago on r3v.

But seriously, i agree. I still have doubts that will match the BBC version, but it deserves a chance

And I'm not killing it, i just don't like it yet. Yeah, I know the first few seasons of UK were less than spectacular, but I would rather watch those old UK episodes, maybe even select older than old UK ones. The last show was better, I will admit that, but it felt really forced, like they were trying to be TG UK... the mustache joke made me realize it...

It could be the accents, but TG UK made me feel smarter, and TG US doesn't do that for me, I feel smart, not smarter because of the show.

I personally was dusgusted by all of the dialogue, and "acting" in the first one. All of the "joking", and commentary seemed forced, it was not really humorous, and I just overall was not impressed. I do however believe that each of those guys does have charisma, it's just yet to be seen. Once they become more comfortable with each other, I believe things wont seem so forced, and it will be a great show. Maybe a season or two in, if not more. The cars are great, and the viper vs. helicopter was pretty epic though, tearing the hell out of the street like that.

It's not the best, but I'll take any automotive programming I can get. (No, I don't have Speed channel). Other than the cheeseball Powerblock on Spike, it's the only regularly-scheduled automotive-related show on my basic cable service.

I don't remember that, but I don't think you would lie to me...

Powerblock is sooooo cheesy, but it hooks me every time.

Nothing beats the pure cheese that is Stacy David, the guy that does Gearz now, used to do Trucks!

I've never heard of this "Gearz" business. But Stacey David was cool... might have to look into it.

I think that American Top Gear should have been called something else so that it didn't have to live up to the Top Gear legacy because it obviously isn't.
