    Maybe you should have bought the IS-F instead of him.

    Because with a car of that caliber, you should strive to have parts of the utmost fucking quality on your shit, of course.
    And yet..

    Another example;
    (Not condoning or bashing this) Some 16 year aspires to drift and daily drive an s13 hatch, and is on a tight budget. He goes out and buys some dece tension rods, whiteline sways, throws a set of emusa coilovers on his shit, and a set of crazy offset P45R Rotas, rolls the fenders with a baseball bat, welds the diff, and zipties up the front bumper. Well that shit is trendy and gay in my opinion, but I think he mad the correct choice. Why, you may ask?

    Because this is a fucking daily driver that a 16 year old is going to beat the balls off of, and go try and drift on the weekend or whenever he gets the chance. Does he have the budget to buy real Nismo LM GT4's? Fuck no. Would it be wise for he (or even you) go out and risk chunking one of those REAL wheels on a curb, or some shit? Hell fucking no.
    Being poor is no more a reason to buy knockoffs than being rich is a reason not to. Money can be saved up. And just because you've saved up, doesn't mean you have to spend it on certain things, so you can leave money right out of the formula because it comes down an personal stance on counterfeit or replica parts.

    Street racing is for dumbasses.

    Also, you need to learn how to make a point without sounding like you have Tourettes.

              • Dangle. I fucking love you. In a way, you just said a lot of shit I wanted to say, but quite frankly didn't know we could get away with saying haha.

                You seem a lot like me, I have a much easier time getting my point across using obscenities and foul language than I do using all the PC bullshit terminology.

                  Well thank ya...I kinda felt like you were trying to express at least a couple of my points in your original post, and furthermore by proposing a discussion of this sort. I honestly realize that the foul language, profanity, and general demeanor of my posts portray a juvenile attitude, and lack of vocabulary, however that's not necessarily the case.

                  I am just extremely passionate about cars, tradition, and the mindset of doing something different, while still following the "code" of past years. I mean back in 1962, when Hot Rod was first being published, and hot rodding was first being brought into the "big media" spotlight, people probably still argued who was faster, who had a better paintjob, and all that jazz, but there weren't "******" at least it doesn't seem like it. I grew up around a lot of old timers, from the guy with the mint unrestored 57 bel air 3 spd/283 car, to the guy that had the 600whp built 440 powered 67 Coronet painted kandy teal. Hearing their stories, there was never anyone involved that was a "new age style *****", that just knocked peoples shit to make themselves feel good, and get a reebok pump on their shaq sized ego. It was about talking shit to each other in a fun way, in the interest of making EVERYONE'S car faster/better/cleaner/etc... or in the interest of a race.

                  If anyone here has seen 2 lane blacktop, there is a scene where they pull up to a cruise in, and see a Ford Model A coupe, with a big motor. He pulls up and talks a little shit on the dudes car, dude fires back and ends up saying something to the effect of "how about we run for $50" And James in the Chevy fires back and says "Make it 3 yards motherfucker, and we'll have ourselves an automobile race". Proving that shit talking is a TOOL. I have used it many times to make the one guy at a cruise in that doesn't want to race, so mad that he had no choice. Don't talk shit just to say something, do it for a reason.

                  Oh, and for all the people out there whining about my foul mouth, I hope you appreciate the Ned Flanders approach that I took to this post. It will likely be short lived though.

                  It's a celebration bishes.

                    • Oh, another thing I wanted to touch on, is this;

                      Automotive culture, while alive in places like this, forums, and our general social circles, I feel is somewhat frowned upon, by the general public. I think we're definitely a small percentage of people, especially enthusiasts that stick with it, past high school where the reason for most having a "cool" car is to impress bitches and shit. Those are the poser kids. But within the last 3 years or so, I have seen an increase in the hassle from police, security, etc while I have had a decline in participation. So, I'm out less and get hassled more, than when I was 18 doing 140 pulls open header on the highway. It's similar to the extreme sports. skating/bmx movement in the early-mid 90's, where these people were almost "shunned" because of their passion, for a sport, similar to our passion for everything automotive. Think about it for a second; In the 90's skaters/bmx'ers were constantly being shuffled around from spot to spot, due to security guards, fife's, etc kicking them out. Now this may not be EVERYONE'S personal experience, but it feels the same way to me. We find a meet spot, keep it for a few weeks, then have to move around. Hell even a meet spot that we visited for 8+ years on a regular weekend basis, is no longer allowed. What's your experiences with this shit?

                          We dont have any speed cameras (that I know of) in my area. But the police are definitely keeping a close eye on the car scene around here. the main reason for that where i live, is theft. modded car theft here is ABSURD. i all too often hear about someones car getting stolen, or being robbed. There are street races all the time around here. its actaully really really popular. and when the cops show up, they rarely ticket people for racing or loitering. they pop your hood and match VIN. if yours doesnt match and you dont have the legit paperwork, your car gets towed, and you get investigated. Im thankful for that kind of thing. keeps the real enthusiast a little safer from theft. but any type of modded car will get you stared at by the boys, then they will follow you and run your plates just waiting for you to give them a reason to pull you over.

                            That's for damn sure. I have always heard about TONS of automotive theft in different cities, and I'm thankful for rarely hearing about it around Cincy, and it not being a big issue. I actually was followed from one end of smaller city, to the other, like a week ago. I was in an LS1 camaro with no visible mods, not overly loud, nothing. Granted we had just go done streetracing like 15 miles away from there in another small city, but come on now...It was ridiculous. He literally followed us to the absolute end of his jurisdiction, and just turned around.

                            I think a large part of the reason we get kicked out of places now, and have really no place to go, is the new wave of younger generation ricer faggots. I **** to sound like an old man (I'm only 23) but holy fuck kids these days have absolutely NO respect for anything. Our long standing meet spot was called the "bumspot", it was a parking lot for the proctor and gamble building in downtown cincinnati, located under an overpass. Ample parking, lights, and Cincinnati cops (who used to be chill about the car thing, they would actually stop in and bullshit with is, give us props, etc) that are focused on the coke slangin dope boy beating the fuck out of his wife, and standing in the street shooting his gun like a retarded motherfucker, not some suburban kids sitting in a parking lot bullshitting, setting up races, etc...This was pre '08.

                            Well, back to these poopdick ricer idiots. Like I said, prior to '08, we NEVER had an issue. Then we had a meet hosted by a friend of mine, called Downtown Anarchy, which started out in 02-03, where people would cruise to the bumspot, then when everyone arrived, we would head out with like 150 cars, to another meet spot, Dave and Busters about 15 miles away, up 75 north. This was fun, whether you were riding in the pack, or hanging back, busting them off with whoever pulled up next to you. It was 10lbs of fun in a 5lb box, to say the least. We always respected the spot, never throwing down trash, or acting like johnny drifter in the parking lot, etc...

                            Well, in this final DA meet, in 08...the ricer influx was massive. Primered single cam shitheaps, wigger kids blasting lil wayne in the parking lot like it was a fucking concert, etc. As we were leaving, some queefcake decided to get in the outside lane of the road leaving the bumspot, and cut off the pack of cars leaving (all full throttle shitheaps racing to a stoplight for some fucking retarded reason). Well, this caused a 6 car pileup. Yes, 6 cars, totaling a net worth of $1500. Well that attracted attention, and for a few more months, we were okay, but had to watch out for the riceboys acting like a down syndrome kid in the ball pit at chuck-e-cheese.

                            Fast forward a couple months, and everything was alright, so we had a BIG meet at the bumspot for the end of the year... Some of the cars in attendance, Built LS6 FDrx7, built AE86 coupe, webers, caged, etc. 620whp Supra, a bunch of NICE 240sx's...What happens? Oh, well within this haggard chipped up gravely blacktop lot, some riceboy decides to be johnny drift jackass, and slide around in the parking lot leaving...absolutely peppering this line of SICK cars with pea gravel. To say the least, the owners were upset. Then later that evening, the same kid comes drifting around the street on the outside of the lot. Cops come, surprise surprise. So we had to leave, as we were leaving, I notice that the parking lot is TRASHED, in the ricer section. Empty packs of cigarettes, bottles, just trash everywhere. Now why the fuck do you have to be so goddamn lazy. Seriously.

                            It pains me to even think about how fucktarded the new generation of kids is. They think that they run shit, when all of us real enthusiasts are just sitting back, building our shit, laughing at these dudes thinking what the hell happened, within those few short years. Did people really become that stupid?

                            Just remember, these are the kids that are slowly killing the car scene, and making it harder for the real enthusiasts to get any real enjoyment out of the "street scene".
