things are probably different here in aus lol.

i also wrote what i was meant to wrong, was meant to say 'sorry im only a 1st year apprentice mechanic atm.'

i left school after year 11 and got a job unloading milk trucks in a dairy factory, did that for a couple of years, i liked the job and the money was decent but i wanted a career, so i got an apprenticeship as a mechanic. started this year, at the age of 20 which is rather late.

i still have lots to learn

selling car parts is a place of many a word thats heard wrong, taught wrong, etc.

wait til you start dealing with roadworthy certs, and all the different names mechanics use for suspension parts(and near everything else), itll have you all confuzzled for a good while!!

you just have to interpret what they want, and ignore the fact that they have no idea what theyre on about, or subtly try and correct them without offending them.



ps. i hope you know basic metric vs imperial conversions/common sizes, most younger guys have only been taught metric(here in aus). im 25, and its a pet **** of mine to go into a shop where the guy behind the counter should have at least *some* knowledge on what 1/4" is in mm, but doesnt have a damn clue. went into a hardware store oneday asking for some flat bar steel, and the guy just looked at me funny when i said i wanted 1/4" thick 2 1/2" wide flat bar. id **** to see what happens when the older generation customers come in, i bet theyd chuck a spaz at him!!

(sorry, that was my off tangent rant for the day)
