They use "rims" because they know that people call wheels rims now. You're fighting a lost cause. This coalition against the word "rims" is pointless pedantry.

I'm guessing you guys still complaining don't understand that language evolves by rule of the majority, not technical jargon.

Oh I understand exactly how language works and evolves, but the majority of people in the world are actually dumb as shit so it all does make sense.

At the end of the day though, people who actually have an understanding and passion for cars will scoff at the people who actually think 'wheels' and 'rims' are interchangeable words (yes, I am being an elitist and have no problem saying that I am)
