Bought an '89 CRX Si when I was 17. Totaled it a month later because I was young and dumb and drove it like an asshole. Six months later I saved up enough to puts towards a '92 Civic Si. Ten years later, I still own it. It's a track car now.

Bought a $500 '89 Civic STD for a beater in '03 while I built the motor in the '92 Civic. Graduated college in '04 and didn't want to continue driving a coffee cream colored lunch box. Sold it to a friend and bought an Acura CL. Didn't plan on keeping it, but over the last year it turned out to be a bit of a project car.

The Turbo Buick I picked up because it was a hell of a deal.

i sold my old SR20'd, straight-piped 240sx when i started going to school in irvine, since cops out there are fastidious about pulling over modded cars. i picked up my current Q45 a month after i moved into the dorms there, haha.

My e39 528I manual: used to be mine a few years ago, I built it from stock mostly putting money into rebuilding the suspension and cooling system, sold and then bought back two years later for a tenth of the price, but with a blown motor. Now I get to rebuild it again. Will not be sold again.

My w210: bought with money from selling my e39, wanted a reliable inline 6 mid class saloon, couldn't be happier with my choice.

My w126 AMG: I was looking for a project e28 or e32 and came accross the AMG by accident, it was the right price and turn key so I bought it, then found out how great of a deal I got after I got it home.

My 96 Miata: again, looking for a project, found a few benz wagons, subaru wagons and an e24 I was interested in, then stumbled by the Miata and talked the price down outragiously low enough to justify buying a Miata. Couldn't be happier with this choice as well.

Now to sell my crx and get a new project car for some weekend fun.

Mate rang me up and said "do you want another civic? $250". I said "ok". Thats the end of that.

Legend - Needed a car, saw a legend at a mates shop, fell in love, so jumped on the web on a sat night, found a car, went there monday and bought it.

Hatch - Went to a wrecking yard (pick-a-part) And it was sitting in the lot, Asked how much, put a deposit on it, went back a week later with a tow truck and money, bought it for $850... Didnt run, had it started in 45 minutes.

Then I bought this awesome set of OZracing wheels for it.... From Loz^

Had 2 e36's, then a 944, then missed BMW's and got a Z4. About a month after buying the Z4 I saw the for sale ad for my e28 pop up, and wanted it really bad. Like really really bad. Insurance on the Z4 got old, and I went to sell it. The seller of the e28 had not bumped the ad in three months, but on a long shot I gave him a call, and picked up the e28 the day after the Z4 sold. Never looked back

Moose, I loved your 944. The e28 isn't too bad either

I got my mkiv as a christmas gift after seeing mike olsons original eurotuner feature and convinced my mom it was the right first car for me with the safety features reliability (lol) mpg, etc.

I got my bmw 2002 by buying an aircooled beetle and parting it out, then I bought my e21 and sold the scheel seats for 800, then traded the e21 and my rs for an e30 plus cash, which I. Sold to a friend for a retardedly low price to make room in the garage for my 2002.

Not afraid to admit it, my parents bought and paid for my car. I searched for 7 months online and looking through for sale papers. Looked at everything from 300Z's to MKII golf's. I went on auto trader and found what appeared to be a great deal on a VR6 Corrado SLC, had nearly no miles and was in mint condition... we contacted the seller about coming out to look at it, he was really shady about letting us see it in person, fed us a load of bullshit for a few days about the whole thing. Basically he was taking pictures of someone else's corrado and made a for sale ad on autotrader and was scamming people out of money through pay pal and ebay.

Then a few weeks later i found a white Scirocco 16V with only 75,000 miles on it. Me and my dad drove 10 minutes away to look at it, it was in great condition and cheap too. Later that day we drove into philly to check out this corrado i found, turned out the car was mad beat but all it did was make me want to get a corrado even more.
Then i went on autotrader again and found a 2.0 MKIII GTI for 4,000. It was low mileage, but i was really put off my the 2.slow under the hood, but the fact that it was so new and i would have a little bit of money to put into it was drawing me in. So i proceeded to ask around on the internet what car would be the better choice. The GTI made more sense and was the smarter choice, but the corrado was too unique and had so much character that i went with that. And coincidentally one of the forums i posted the question on had a member selling a G60. i talked to him for 2 days about it, drove out on the 3 day and my dad bought it for me.

In the end, my dad paid way too much money for it, what i should should have done was buy the Scirocco... character, low mileage, and easy to maintain. But instead i spent 7 months searching for a car the has given me nothing but headaches and memories. The only thing is i don't understand where my parents got the money for it, we are no where near wealthy, my parents don't spoil me and my brother, yet they were able to spend 4,500 on a car for me. I think it's best to not as them that and just thank them for what they did instead.

-i bought my first car at 17yo by myself while i did not have my driving license for 750$ working for the guy who sold me the car (my best friend's grandpa) an 1985 Opel Corsa 1100cc engine
-some months later, after i got my driving license, i saw a 1981 B2 passat for something like 800$, i bought it selling the first car and selling all i could like my PS2, some wears... Drove it 6 months and put in it a lot of kms to the clock then it broke down and no spare parts to rebuild her but i loved this car and did my best to keep it, it was 6 years ago and i still have the car, i am currenlty swapping her with a 5cylinders 20v from an Audi 90.
-then dad came to the party, he bought me a daily grocery, diesel, a Peugeot 406 1900cc Diesel for about 4000$ at the time, i kept the car 2 years, a great car... sold it about 3000$
                        -bought a 1993 Volvo 940 wagon 2,4L TurboDiesel for 3000$ and sold it 4 months later 4500$
-bought a 1997 VW passat B4 TDI and i lost everything with car, sold it something like 1900$, it was a bad crap
-then i said hello the the bank and bought a 1998 Volvo S70 2,5L Turbo, 4 months later i said bye bye to the bank, to expensive for what i earn...

i now drive my good old 700$ 1983 bimmer E21 318i and i love that! i own here for almost 3 years and it never fucked me! i love this car and it needs more attention than what i can do as a daily driver.

Had an E36 316i (Preowners: BBC, grandpa, mum). Got it as my 18th birthday present. put some money in it, most of it for maintenance. After the winter i lost control over the rust. Crankshaft was damaged so topspeed was about 90mp/h, sometimes about 110mp/h. car was stock like nothing else and i wanted something faster which is well equipped. must have: bmw 36, m-technic, a/c, at least the small bordcomputer, power windows, at least a 318i and way less miles than 330000kilometres on it^^.
searched for another sedan but couldn't find a good one. also the insurance is very high, because every idiot wants to drive a e36 sedan or coupé. so i found my '97 318i touring (low miles, well equipped, owner put a lot of work in it) for 4800euro. 1500more than i wanted to spend. well, after i sold my 316i for 400euro more than expected i was fine. Showed it to my parents, they were not really happy. 1week later i bought the car xD
I'm very happy with the car.
But sometimes, when no one is around, i secretly search for a nice sedan

1st car, something cheap, reliable, and MANUAL. Came across this teg on autotrader a couple years and after discussing it with the parents and 4grand out of my account, she sat in my driveway. I really really wanted a RWD but, i didn't end up with the worst FWD chassis ever so i began building a clean daily driver.

My dad bought the Jetta new in September 2003 and drove it for a year. When I got my license, it got handed down to me (especially bc he ***** driving manual every day) and he got a 2004 Acura TL, which was handed down to my younger brother once he was of driving age. Any mods, maintenance, etc. on the Jetta have been handled by me and I'm forever grateful for my parents being able to provide the car. I've never seen anything wrong with parents buying their kids a car so long as the kids appreciate it and take care of it

My first car was an 88 FC RX-7 that my parents purchased for me as my 16th birthday present. That money also included my 17th birthday gift and my christmas gift as well so it wasn't like it was just handed to me free and clear, lol.

Sold the FC and bought an 86 AW11 MR2. Drove that. Did stupid teenager stuff. Broke it. Fixed it. Broke it. Fixed it. Sold it. I ended up paying my parents back for the RX-7 and bought the MR2 with the money from the FC. My mom bought a new car and I took possession of her old car, eventually buying it off her. Traded that in for a 2003 Chevy S-10 4.3 5-speed. Put payments on it, paid it off, and sold it right after the last payment.

I received some inheritance money, unfortunately, from a very close relative passing away and decided to use some of it plus the money I made off the S-10 sale to purchase a new vehicle. Bought my 20th and rocked it. I really missed having RWD though, and after a bad run in with the law men, I sold the 20th and purchased the TT I have now. No plans to get rid of it, although I was flip flopping about keeping it until I lowered it. I realized that there is so much left to do on it, and you don't see too many.
