first car '96 sl1 - My dad picked it up from a salvage yard (payed for it myself) because it was really cheap and was only broken into. Needed only a battery and a new ignition. its now scraped, although i still have almost all its easily removed parts.

second car '99 sl2 - wrote of the sl1 and was looking for a saturn shell i could swap my motor into. long story short i secretly always wanted the dual overhead cam so when one came up with a blown motor i jumped on it. had to buy a motor for it but the extra cam was worth it. still have it.

third car '09 aveo - was originaly my buddie's mom's car. she didn't like it and so he offered to finish the payments, and so the car became his. he modded the car but then moved to england, ended up selling the car to my brother. my brother helped beat the poor car into oblivion and then sold it to me for cheap. I fixed it up some and sold it back lol

I got my first car for free from my dad. Someone owed my Dad rent for a small property he owned at the time and couldn't pay so they gave him the car that was in the shed. a purple 1947 Lanchester. I had that for about 6 months then sold it and brought a 1990 E30. Fell in love with it and had that for a couple of years. Sold it wanting to move onto something different. I'm on my third E30 now! haha

I won an award for engineering/fabrication in high school.
So naturally I blew all of the money on a $500 ae86 and a 20v 4age to swap in.

Bought the Camaro for $900 because I wanted a Camaro growing up, I saw the Mercedes on Craigslist and really only got it because I thought it was cool.

Was bored of the e36 coupe and the e36 platform, wanted more doors and something older with the more classic look. So it was a choice between e23 and e28.
Scouted the German interwebs, and a clean affordable e28 popped up. so i imported it to Faroe Island.

Prelude- Passed it on the side of the road on my way to work about 10 times, never really thought anything of it until my friend talked me into going and looking at it after a local car show one night. Drove it around the block, fell in love with it, and bought it. Five years later, it's become a long-winded project that never ends.

M3- Was browsing a local forum just before leaving work, and the for sale ad popped up. Naturally, everyone I asked said I was a fucking fool if I passed up on it. So, I called the guy right then, drove to his house right after work, and bought it on the spot. Picked it up the next morning- less than 12 hours after I found out about it.

Accord-Was a replacement for my gas guzzling Expedition that never moved from my driveway because of the shitty mileage. The Honda was supposed to stay stock. Like Chris, its a never ending project. I've had it for 4 years and 90k miles.

RDX-was a replacement for the old TL with a failing transmission. Had to leave wifey with something a bit newer and more reliable before deploying 3 years ago.

Colorado - I was driving around $500 junk trucks i found just to hold me over and then I started working full time so found the truck on the internet, drove down to the dealer and bought it.

Civic - just picked it up to get some mpgs and to drive when the truck is down

I didn't have a car in my own name until I was 25ish I think. I paid for them, but my parents did the BUYING portion. And I'm glad they did. I will do the same thing for my kids

sooo, my G35:..Well, I had a 300C that I loved, but wanted to get back to into drifting. So, I sold it (the family car) and picked up a new F150 and a completely unmolested beautiful 93 240sx coupe from a buddy. The F150 was a super crew (4 full doors) so it served as the family car and I planned on towing the 240 to events. Wife put the kabosh to the 240 so I sold it and the parts we picked up back to my buddy. She said I could get another car in Summer time (this all went down in late November of 11). In winter, some guy offered my buddy more than twice what I paid INCLUDING parts and I told him to sell it and I'd find another one. Every other S13 was either beat to sh1t or had JDMBUTSEKZ markup pricing so I moved to the S14. It was the same story with those cars. But, their pricing was (obviously) a lot higher. So, I said for S14 money, let's see if there's any nice G35's out there since I wanted one for close to a decade. Plus, it would give me a reason to start piecing together an LS. Found one from a young Jersey couple and drove down and picked it up. To pay for it, I sold the F150 and picked up a Maxima since I need a family car. FIN.
