  • So Im currently on EC Stack, As well as a 1700Cal/Day Diet. Got into an argument on another forum with people saying If I go that low I'll lose strength. Which wouldn't matter much so long as I lose the weight. Well I'm 3 weeks in and have only Lost weight and GAINED strength lol. Guess the mostly protein diet helps. Currently At 245 bench when I started lifting in June I could barely do 80. Ha.

    • because you are new to lifting, you are still peaking out your noob gains. if you had been at it for a while and were on a serious program, then yea 1700cal a day would definitely make you lose strength

          I'm eating around 3000 calories a day (300+ grams protein and 200 ish grams carbs) and I'm still losing body fat. It's not the calories I care about, it's all about the macros.

          I also find myself stepping on the scale less and less and just going with how I feel. If I feel tired one day I'll have some more carbs etc. Going to start making Sundays a high carb day then having the rest of the days around 1g card per lb of body weight and see where that goes.

          Goal is a 6 pack by June.

          • i just can't bring myself to go running or cycling or ... to loose that last bit of belly fat haha

            and i've been slacking a bit on my lifting weights

            but now school is done, i plan on going way more again

            i did loose 2 pants sizes in the last year

            • My waist keeps shrinking too. I'm down around a 32 but I have to wear 34's for the bigger leg openings. lol. And my quads are only getting bigger.

              Like tomorrow is leg day. I'll do regular squat and front squat. Between warm up sets and drop sets I'll do about 20 sets of squats tomorrow.

              • Well, Monday I benched 240 for 7reps. Tried Max of 250 but only got 2 clean reps out of it. Did manage 8 reps of 220 though

                    I still havent been able to figure out a weekly routine yet. I was supposed to do bench today, but I skipped it becuase I got called into work early. Tomorrow is dead lift day, which I suck at horribly lol

                    • So I only ended up doing 16 sets. Had to save a little for dead lift.

                      Went 5 light warm up sets and then 4 working sets and a drop set for regular squat. Then did 1 warm up set, 4 working sets, and a drop set with front squat.

                      Then did Romanian dead lift. 5 sets. 1 warm up, 3 working sets, and a drop set

                      Regular dead lift for 5 sets. 1 warm up, 3 working sets, and a drop set.

                      Leg ext and curls. 3 sets for extensions and 4 for curls.

                      Also when doing squats and deads I superset with varying grip pull ups. Usually 3 sets to failure each grip style.

                      So yeah. My leg DOMS will be great come about Sunday AM.

                      Some might think that's 'overtraining,' but I think that shits a myth. If I were doing that everyday, yeah that would be overtraining but I only hit legs once a week.

                      Arnold talked in his book about Tom Platz who pretty much had some of the best legs of all time. The guy would squat for hours, literally, then ride 20 miles on a stationary bike.

                      • Switched to a Bro gym. Makes my old one look like a dunkin donuts in size hahah. Weights feel heavier for being the same numbers too. More included for a couple bucks more but overall im happy with the switch, Also did it to help a buddy who's just starting out. Kind of training him on what machines/exercises does what.

                          • I've thought about switching gyms. I currently go to the YMCA, but there is also another fitness place I could go to. The Y is nice because the gym is usually really quiet when I'm there and it's where I have always gone. I know the other place has some more equipment that I wished the Y had, but there is also a certain level of douchebag fucks that go there and I don't feel like being around them. You know, guys on roids, slamming weights around, all that shit.

                            • We have the Y's here. They're nice. Corrently going to a Canadian chain called Goodlife, Before I was at Snap which I believe is all over the US also.
