  • Need help on 10" rear on 335i

Hey guys, got myself into a pickle. Was running 245/35s on a 10" wheel sitting at +20 in this pic below with a very slight roll. Car rubbed insanely.

So me and a buddy took on re-rolling the rears. Beers ensued. So did completely over doing it. This is the rears now (shitty iphone pic) with the same specs as above:

I want to get this way more flush so I won't feel so bad about the hack job on my fenders Currently the tire sits about an inch in from the edge of the fender. I would just toss some bigger spacers on (currently running 15mm, wheels are +35) to flush it up, but that will cause problems with clearance on my rear bumper. My question is, should I stretch a 225/35 on the rear and toss a 25mm spacer on it to make it flush(er)? Thanks guys.

you and ur buddy are retarded, u just ruined ur fender. good luck fixing that hackjob :

get a smaller tire either way. 235/35 on a f452 isnt bad at all but if u want major clearance definitely move down to a 225

Yeah everytime I see it I feel sick to my stomach. It doesn't look too bad, just the wheels are toooo tucked, so it makes it look twice as bad. Think I would have any problems running 225/35 on a 10"?

As for fixing it, think it's possible? I'd definitely be willing to spend a few hundred (nothing more than 3 or so) to get a body shop to take a look at it and possibly fix it.

still gonna be a lot to fix. for the price u might as well have wider fenders welded on. 225 on a 10 is pretty aggressive, but it definitely needs to be properly mounted. once its all up to pressure ur gonna open up a TON of room

            You sure did.
What is the reason for going so aggressive and not stopping with the roller?

Mostly ignorance. I saw it bowing, but read multiple DIY's and saw that it was normal to bow some. Didn't think it would go that crazy.

So I'm confused. Is it still rubbing? Try some 25mm spacers from H&R

I fitted 225s on 18x10 and it fit just fine but it was too stretched for my taste.

Currently running Falken 912s 235/35/18 on my 18x10

It isn't rubbing right now, I'm good in that department. I'll try and get some shots today and update the thread. If I go with a bigger spacer, my tire WILL rub on my rear bumper. I'll post up later with the problem area's. I could go more neg camber, but then I'd be less flush. I really don't want to have to go down a tire size, because I just mounted these 2 weeks ago haha.

Will post later. The pain of the fenders is slowly going away...

The fenders may look very very pulled out now but, I think you can go about this problem a few different ways. Get a new set of custom wheels maybe 18x11 with a lower offset and then space them from there. It would bring them out nicely and fill in the fender spaces maybe a 245/35/18 on the rears would look nice or even a 255/35/18. Even if it means raising your car about an 1/8th of an inch. All depends how aggressive you wanna go. Well thats my opinion and what I would do, did you crack the paint on the fenders?

Didn't crack any paint, was actually suprised haha. My biggest problem now is the clearance between my bumper and my tire is VERY minimal. I'm not sure how much room would be cleared with a 235. Gonna have to roll like this until next season I supposed. By that time I'll have saved up for some coilovers, and new tires for the rears atleast. That will let me get my heighth perfect to poke it out.

Sorry man, thats looks pretty nasty. I would have a body shop fix it then go to a 235 series.

Alright first of all when you roll your fenders you're supposed to relax, take your time, and have a few beers. You are NOT supposed to get drunk and then go at it. Secondly, always roll your fenders to the wheels. Roll a little, test fit the wheel. Roll a little more and so on. It takes a lot of patience but in the end it's worth having a nice looking fender and fitting wheel. Don't feel bad though, I learned the same exact way. The first time you roll a fender you just want to keep going! It took me a while to get over my horrible fenders. I ended up going even wider and I loved it. Well, to be honest I never really got over it and ended up selling the car because of it.

Anyway, if you want to keep the fender flaired the way it is your going to NEED a TON of stretch and some stupid high spring rates and much lower offsets to make it look and work right. Think about it. The way the fender is now, you need it flush and since the fenders go way out you have way less room for the wheels to travel resulting in a ton more rubbing- but it does look sicker- just a little more hardcore.

The worst part is if you just went a size or 2 down in the first place, you wouldn't have rub AT ALL. That's definitely a pretty average set up for the car. Your wheel would have just cambered and tucked underniether the fender when compressed- now that's not possible without a lot of stretch and camber and a little more massaging of the fender.

                              IMO, you have 3 choices:

Crazy offsets, crazy stretch, and air bags.

Crazy offsets, crazy stretch, proper coilover set up with high rates, a lot of camber, and a little more massaging of the fender

Get the fender professionaly fixed and simply go down a size or 2 in tires.

Honestly, I wouldn't feel too bad about it. It just gives you no choice but to go super aggresive. Hope that helps. Just my 2 cents on the matter.
