  • Removing bolts without taking tires off?

I need to repolish my lips but dobt want to take off the tires? Is it ok to take them out if I let the air out of the tires and remove valve stem corrs? Thanks.

How much stretch do you have on your tires?

In general, it wouldn't be something I'd be dying to do, since all that will be holding your rim halves together will be the sealant. However, if your tires have significant stretch (i.e. not any outward pressure coming from the tires) and you're not afraid to reseal the wheels if things go south, it's not liable to hurt anything.

205/40 on 18x9 and 215/40 on 18x10. Would be better if I left 4 bolts in so they hold the wheel together?

The way I'd probably handle it is to pull a handful of bolts in one area, polish, put bolts back in, and move to a new area.

I basically have to repolish the lips from ground up. I have to jave all the bokts out when sanding the lips. I can work around 4 bojts if thats the only safe way to do it

I don't see a problem with doing this as long as you ensure you tighten to spec once complete...it's going to take you a hell of a lot longer to do so working 4/6 bolts @ a time. Good luck lol .

Go buy a few bolts with smaller head profile, specifically for this purpose. Button head should work fine.

Use a few countersunk or flat head style bolts with a head size just larger than the holes in the lip. The low profile will be easier to polish around/over, and you don't have to worry about damaging your good bolts. You can get them at any hardware store... most likely find them with a straight or phillips head.
