I've been searching for a while but I cant seem to find anywhere that sells 185/35r17 tires in the US for a reasonable price, I know tuner shop and BFI sells them but I'm not trying to spend over $500 on tires. Any help would be much appreciated.

Didn't even know that size existed to be honest.

I would imagine you're looking to put that on an 8" wide wheel?

No need for that size unless you're running ubber offset. What's the specs?

17x8 offsets between 0 and -5 not 100 percent sure yet I was thinking 195/40s as well but the only 195/40's they sell in the US are yokos and I've read many times that they run wide.

            yep

You're better off doing 1 of 2 things:

1.) Get wider wheels so a 205/40 will stretch real nice.

            or

2.) Get 205/40's and live with it.

I'm in this pickle and while my 17x8's with 205/40's up front work, my fitment could be loads better with 17x9's with the same tire size. That's why I'll be widening my wheels.

            lol

Anyways, I know that doesn't really help, so here is a pic of a Falken 912 205/40 on an 8" wide wheel:

            Hope this helps

You don't need that much stretch or that short a tire for the specs you want to run, a narrow 205/40 will work fine.

ok thanks for the input guys, ill be ordering wheels within the next few weeks still cant decide between rotiform nues, 17x8 with spacers to get like +0 front and -5 rear or 3sdm 0.05s 16x9 with spacers to get +5 front and +0 rear, 205/40s. leaning towards the 3sdms right now based on this info.

If you're ordering them don't get 8j and I don't know why you're planning to use spacers with custom wheels to be honest. Makes no sense

lol I'm not getting custom if I get the Nues I will get the 1 piece cast versions that aren't 4k a set and only come in 17x8 +20 for 4x100, same for the 3sdms a set of the 1 piece version is $900. being an unemployed college student my wheel budget is only 1k not including tires just trying to do the best I can with that

I'd go with the 3dsm's then. 16x9 with 205/40 will look real nice.

I still think that the 195/45/17 I had on my 17x8 was the best.

                          No close pictures,

If you go with 205/40's on a 16 you're going to have to be quite low to not have wheel gap. Most use 205/45's or 215/40's with 16's.

hmm good point, after doing some math the diameter of my current wheels with tires is 23.45in if I go with the 16x9's and a 205/40 the diameter would be 22.44in lol don't think my m42 pan can handle 1 less inch of clearance. 215/40 would give me 22.76in and 205/45 would give me 23.23in. seems like 205/45 would be the best choice since I'm already close to maxed out on my coil overs. btw I'm on Megan uero street coilovers, about 1" -3/4" left in front and all the way down in the rear.
