Yet if you had done this^ before making the thread you would have saved us all the time

No one made you or anyone else reply to this thread, apparently you voluntarily wasted your time. Just like how your wasted your time posting that reply.

lol how low is the offset that you need garden hose size tires? We've fit 235/40/17 under e30's before.

well I was originally gonna be going with 0 to -5 and I was considering the 185/35's because I liked how they looked on a 17x8 wheel and the fact that they would give me plenty of clearance to lower the car as much as possible, this car is being built as a nice dd that maximizes its aesthetic/fitment potential.

            ET0 on 8j///Becuz stancecar!¬

If you're so slow in the brain that you can't figure out that all the time you wasted posting this thread, you could have found your answer and had a clearer picture in your own mind about what you want to do. Instead of relying on others opinions which quite frankly don't matter when it comes to how you want your own car to look? Or do they?

You would have found that a 185 35 17 on an 8j looks and feels hideous, IF you're going for dat "aesthetic/fitment potential" and won't be a "nice dd"

First of I came for advice on where to find tires, that was the point of the thread in the first place. Everyone else that posted on this thread was friendly and gave me useful information that helped me decide that I should go with the 16" wheels I was thinking of instead of the 17"s. You on the other hand were condescending and completely useless. The only person wasting their time here is you. I don't know what your problem is but in my book helping out a fellow car enthusiast is never a waste of time. That's the whole point of this forum isn't it, to talk about car stuff? In the end its my car and I'm don't care what you or any one else thinks of it but I still appreciate the help and advice of people with like interests. I may only have a few posts on here but I come to this forum a lot and have been for a couple years, and the reason is because for the most part everyone is friendly and willing to help and has useful information. I guess its true that wherever you go there's always gonna be douchbags.

235/40's fit on a 17x8 et20 with a roll front and rear on my car.

                  ebay is the answer man
i use it all the time, great prices, new tires, buyer protection, and high seller ratings

-not sure about your sizes but give it a try-

These tires are super played here in Germany and i honestly have yet to see a car that pulls them off out of the 100s of MK2s, 3s and whatnot.

Fact is that that your car needs to be slammed as fuck. Secondly: no hard driving or your wheel will kiss the road when cornering (even on 7.5s). Third thing: even the lowest curb can fuck up your wheels.
4: these tires are so damn uncomfortable and the car will handle nervously.
