  • When is it safe? Spacer question

I was told that running OEM length lug bolts would be safe with 5mm spacers. However, this kind of concerns me as I coated my OEM lug bolts with a light coating of anti-seize to see how many threads actually secured into the hub. When I installed the wheel/spacer and removed it, I saw that only 3-4 threads went into the hub. This doesn't seem too safe to me. Should I get extended lugs, or will this be perfectly fine?

I would definitely go for the extended lugs. That doesn't sound very safe at all.

FWIW, I have run 5mm spacers in the past with stock bmw bolts for thousands of miles with no issues.

6 turns minimum on lugs isn't it?
