I have a set of 17x8"/9" et 7/18 (1.5" lips all around) BBS RS that have been changed to 5x120 via inserts.
I want to rebuild them for my '90 535i. The best I think I can do is leave the front alone and swap the 1.5" lip on the rear for a 2.5" lip. Swapping the front lip to anything larger will require major fender work and I don't want to get into that this time around. Just a simple roll and minor to no tire stretch with track days in mind.
It would seem that there is a lot of meat on the back pad that I am guessing is what is giving them the 'relatively' aggressive offset.
Any idea if it would be safe to have a machine shop shave off 10mm off the back?
My goal would be to go to a 2.5" lip up front and a 3.5" lip out back.
