    There is good reason for stripping chrome to polish one is to keep air in tyres, as it starts to oxidize between chrome & nickel it wont keep air in, as happened now... well this is partly because poor quality but also that there is many different metals next to each other.

    But anyway i don't like the chrome finish.. heres 1 reason for that:

      Chrome looks like shit, it's tacky as fuck, and it's definitely not the same finish. Polish is a much richer shine. Chrome will never last for shit, and will flake when it gets old. Polish once, treat it often, and it will always look good.

                  There would be still problem with lips, as they are also chromed, and there is that nickel plating that is extremely hard to strip..

                                I vote polish the windows and lips, leave the spokes as is...

                                ...OR you could just paint them all an obnoxious colour and be done with it.
