yes, Sulfuric Acid if i remember correclty.. takes off chrome & nickel plating.. now just plain aluminium

I vote polish the windows and lips, leave the spokes as is...

...OR you could just paint them all an obnoxious colour and be done with it.

I've been thinking to paint center Matte Bronze or Matte Gold, polished lip Your idea is nice, although bare aluminium is pain in the ass to keep in good shape

Raw ali is exactly the same as any other finish, just slap on some wheel wax when you clean them. I had it on my old wheels and had no problems even after being slack for a while on the wax coats they still cleaned up fine

Yes i did, used: grits 320, 500, 800, 1200, 2000 and after that 2 different polishing waxes
