I disagree, I've had no issues with slip-ons. Your wheels will at the very least be lug-centric, and properly torqued there should be very little opportunity for imbalance.
That said, hubcentric spacers are still better, and can be had for relatively cheap.
there nothing wrong with running non hub centric, universal spacers work fine. if youre running lug bolts though i would not suggest running anything bigger than a 8mm spacer. you want at least a little lip for the wheel to go on.
