or just trolls racking up posts,

now that i think of it, u will get less than + 50 offset, depending how thick/thin the wheel's centre is

Yea, we could try to explain the measuring process... But trial and error will be the easiest method I think

        Uhhh...

Flipping the center will not give you an inverse offset. That's completely wrong.

Not trying to be rude, but please be careful giving out information if you're not 100% sure what you're talking about.

It's a rare case that flipping the center gives you an exact inverse offset.

don't forget your mounting face is now on the other side, so probably u didn't calculate right

                    k. lets make this really simple.

i have 17x8 et0 steelies on my e28. they are flush with my fenders, or just sunken in a bit.

with your current wheels, they have no clearance issues on the inside of the wheel. it should easily clear all your suspension components, and your brake calipers as well.

your issue is, that the outer lip sticks out way too far.

so, here is the best solution.

get lips that are not as wide!

but even if you get lips that are 2" less wide, your offsets will still be in the negative.

my honest opinion? sell the wheels, get a pretty penny, and purchase some wheels that fit. i never usually give that advice. but i think in this situation, your wheels choice is just wayyyyy too optimistic.

sell them to a racer who can actually use them for the correct application. and find yourself some nice low offset wheels that have a chance of working.

Ok let's decipher this mess... From pictures, info the OP has posted, I assume the following.

5" barrels (OP said they measure 5.5)
Lip size is also 5" then, if not, then the lip width is (10" - barrel width)
faces are mounted under the barrel, not between the barrel/lip

That last point is what will make the biggest change in your offset. If you have an offset of -50 on a 10" wheel, then that means you have ~75mm of backspacing. If the centre was mounted between the barrel and the lip, your backspacing should be reduced to (5" - thickness of hub).

Do this and I estimate your offset will be in the low -20s, not that it will help on an e30 my math is pointless in the end...

^^ Forgot to mention, this will also make the rears wider, which you're trying to avoid... but it WILL give a nicer offset.

Regardless they just won't work. Sell them.
