It can be done but it looks absolutely retarded because the stretch is too extreme.

To the OP, What brand were you looking at? Im looking into the same size wheel, and also want something smaller than a 215. But there are not too many choices.

^^^this. also i tried with 215/45 on my new 17x10 et17, and i can say that still doesnt rub, but when i'll lower it with 1-1,5inch all around and will try to run the 40 series...

ive seen 195/40/16 on a 9.5 and it was pretty maxed out imo.

215/40 is pretty maxed out also. Bear in minf you would have to be ridiculously low to pull it off

you guys are talking all this 215 40 stuff which would stretch alot different the a 195 45
the side wall is taller so it would be much more pliable
45% of 195 is different then 40% of 215 not by much but enough.
from what i understand 06tiburonofdoom drives his car frequently with a 195 on a 10 and so have a few others... it all comes down to what tire you would be running OP i say go for it

haha, thanks but actually as you can see it's not necessary...
even with those 215/45 after running 2-5miles on the shitty roads one of the tires began to make noises like "pssssssssssst" - and it was at 3,5bar (~50psi) can you believe it? So i'm sure that if i run 215/40 i won't be able to roll them, because of the roads, fawk!

sometimes wheels will leak, if you have to much pressure in them.
i would personally only go high as 2.5bar.

this is really good info... So if i had a 165 45 15 on a 15x8 around what tire pressure would you recommend to run?

Do a 205/40 on the 10", I had it last season, and I didn't had any problems at all, and the stretch was really nice!
