  • Offset help for E36 M3 (18x8/10.5)

Looking to pick up a set of wheels tomorrow, but I had some offset questions..

Essentially, i wanna get a stance like mikes on his e36 w/ the ACS like the main page.
Nice poke with some stretch, which I know isnt too hard for our e36's.

    Here are my questions..

    front is 18x8 et 47
    rear is 18x10.5 et 51

Seeing mikes stance, what would you guys think be a good set up as far as tire sizing and spacers goes?

I have a set of 20mm spacers and a set of 10mm spacers... but im lost, and wanna make sure I can get these to fit properly before I jump the gun tomorrow.

    Thanks fellas
    David

not sure how much bigger is e46 m3 fenders compared to e46 sedan, but even with 20mm spacers i think your wheels will still sit well inside the fenders. my current setup on my sedan is 19x9.5 & 19x10.5 +25 all around

any close ups of your rear fitment? and tire size please.
pretty sure e46 non m fenders are fairly similar to e36 fenders

Expect a lot of poke with 10.5s. I personally wouldn't get them. An 8/10.5 combo on an e36 won't look good imo. Might as well save your money and buy something with proper specs since you will need serious spacers to pull it off. Plus not much stretch on an 18x8, while your rears would need to be stretched a ton. Unless they're a killer deal of course. Just my $.02

Look for 9 or 9.5 +20-25 all around

or if you want a 10 out back +25-30

          or of course 8.5 +13

if you want your front wheels to sit where mikes are, you are looking at -7ish.
and the rears you will need et at 27ish.

so 54mm spacer front (each side.)
and 24mm spacer rear (each side.)

for the fronts you will need a 185/40 and rear a 245/35.
I think it will look weird with the front so narrow.
Keep in mind that mike is running a really aggressive front, compared to the "normal" the ones running 9'' fronts, use to run 20-25ish. he is running et 06 with a lot of camber and a nice stretch. and he is running the "normal" for the 10'' rear. et20ish. (cant remember the et, its around 17 to 20)

i would vote no, to spacing the fronts so much, would run smaller spacers and not so much negative camber on the front, something like a 37mm front (get the et to 10) and run a 205/40.
for the rears you should be good, (if the wheel clears on the inside) with a spacer.

oh did not see that you typed 18inch tall, don't know if this changes much. He is running 17inch, thats where i did all the math from. But you can always try for your self on willtheyfit.com his specs are 17x9et06 205/40 and 17x10et20 225/40. (keep in mind, he has camber plates up front, don't know if he camber arms rear.)

That helps a lot, the fronts I'd like but not really necessary. With these being the width and offset they are, do u think I should get them if they're a good deal?

Fronts I'm not so much worried about, just was worried about the rears

Not looking to run a crazy amount of camber but maybe around 3 or so which is what I'm at now with my drop.

well, as long that you clear inside of the rear wheel, why not. + you can play with the rear, adding spacers etc. just the fronts are a bit weak.
are you able to mount the wheels before you buy them?
do the fronts clear without adding spacers? - if then, i would jump on them, and add bigger lips, so you get something like 9 inch wide or maybe even 9.5.

and you can always swap the front barrels, to the rear wheel. and get new barrel / lips for the fronts.

i wont be able to, but hes a local so i may be able to work it out to where if they dont fit i can get my money back.

the fronts i doubt would fit, because im running stock contours now 17x7.5f et41 and i had to space them about 13mm to clear to coils... its also running a lot of camber up front because i havent aligned it.

from checking willtheyfit.com it doesnt seem bad at all, i just need to make sure the rears clear the insides... fronts im not worried about much.

BUT, rears are 3 piece, fronts are 2 piece. would it be a huge hassle if i wanted to say go 9.5's up front in the future or 9's?

kk he said rears clear no problem, but fronts would prob need them with my tein coils.
im gonna grab them and make them work, the deal is great and all id need is lugs, and center caps then tires and a roll and pull on the fenders.
