Removing face without breaking the bead

I have yet to see a face mounted behind the barrel shell. Sounds like you guys are making shit up, unless you can find me an example of this so-called 'reverse mount'.

More importantly though, that's all irrelevant because CCW Classics have the face bolted on top of the outer shell, and OP already knew this.

Personally, I wouldn't remove the bolts from a 3-piece wheel with the tire on, because of the possibility of the two shells shifting a bit, and the seal between them becoming compromised.

I know people do it with BBS LMs but that is a 2 piece wheel where you simply mount the wheel from the back.

I dont see how you could mount a RS from behind.

From what I've read the guys on the Vette forums they've have had to split theirs with A LOT of force. Like prying them with 2x4s and wacky shit like that lol (and that's CCWs as well)

Mine are actually LM20s, but I am pretty sure they are the same construction as Classics.

I don't think there would be enough force to seperate them completely, but I'd be a wary of it shifting enough to compromise the seal. Maybe that's unfounded, I don't really know. But since mounting wheels is inexpensive anyways, I would rather just get it done.

That's a "sandwich mount", not your fictional face-behind-inner-shell-mount. If that's what people call "reverse mount", so be it. I won't go around editing threads about it.

LMs are 2 piece wheel. Face and the barrel/lip is one.

I had to replace a barrel on one of my CCWs. I did it with the tire off, but it took about 5 minutes of work total to have the wheel disassembled. The face comes off after the bolts are out very easily, just need a pillow or something to put the wheel on and a 2x4 to lightly tap the face out from behind.

Splitting the lip and barrel is also really quick. I just used a razor blade to slice through the silicone (which CCW applies VERY neatly) and then grabbed the lip and barrel with each hand and they pried apart by hand

Reverse mounting has nothing to do with where the face goes. It's mounting the tire with the wheel face-down on the machine, rather than face-up.

LMs are not flat either, and obviously can be reverse-mounted, as you posted a picture of one. Also, a member on this forum did it. No reason CCWs would be impossible.

looks like it may work just like a reverse mounted LM. As long as the face sits flush on the barrel (CCW told OP it would) it should be fine.

LM20s are not flat. You can see where the bolt holes have a cavity around them.
