Falken, Yokohama should be fine. I usually go with what I can find in the size that come for front and rear, and whats a decent price at the time.

          The Pshop looks good tho.

You can have the car slammed and almost laying subframe and still have wheelgap with that size (I have a serious hatred for 205/40/17s on any MK4 in case you haven't noticed)
                205/40/17 isn't mk3 sized.
If you throw 17s with that size on a mk3 you sit about an inch and a half higher than stock ride height. It's an overall wheel/tire diameter that's right in between what a mk3 uses and what a mk4 uses.

That size can be pulled off by either a mk3 or 4, but has to be done right. (cars must be slammed)

                as seen on a mk4.

205/40/17 is 100% a MK3 sized tire. Brian mcpeepants (blue 20th) was the only one to ever come close to pulling off 205/40s and even that was a stretch. The problem is that the tire is too small for the wheel well, making it look undersized and almost always leave some amount of wheel gap even when laying framerail.

For example, my friend's MK3 with 205/40/17s up front

205/40/17s on a MK4 laying framerail. Notice how the tires look fucking tiny for the wheel well. I also used this car as an example bc the dude is a cocky fuck who claims to have the lowest MK4 around when in actuality it just has baby tires and sits like absolute dog shit

uh yeah how can you fucking argue that 205/40 is a proper size?

                      it looks retarded.

I'm much too lazy to link to the tire size calculator, but it will prove the guy is dum-dum about tires (the one who said 205/40 isn't a MK3 size tire).

I'm rocking dsII's now. I sold my contours for them, because I liked them so much more.

They'll look great on any euro car
