  • DSIIs on an MkIV

So once I get my ZeroClearance Coilovers for my M3 and slap my Type As on, I will have this set of DSIIs just sitting around.

I will also have my DD Jetta TDI sitting on stock steelies and snow tires.

I've seen some pictures on vortex of a Jetta on DSIIs and I think it looks okay, so why not rock what I got?
    Example:

    My questions are:
What size tires will be best?
    &
What size adapters should I order?

I've searched around and haven't really found much, so I figured maybe someone on here could shed some light on the subject for me.

I will be looking to go low, and plan on rolling the fenders on the Mk4.

    Thanks!
    ~Jeremy

They're 17s right? 205/45/17 if you plan on being as low as that car.

I thought the staggered ones were 7.5 and 8.5
That's what my staggered LTWs are.

I'm obviously not remembering correctly then! 7.5 and 8.5 it is!

                  I'd do 205/40/17 all around.
The front will sit too high IMO on 7.5s with 205/45/17.
It'll throw your speedo by like 8km/h, but who cares, right?

I was resisting contemplating it for a while, as DSIIs are not the easiest wheel to clean, but they look so good when they are!

The ones I have aren't in the best shape, but they will do just fine on a DD.

I went from 3:55s and stock tires in my jeep to 4:11s and 31s... I was off by like 30-40mph... fixed it in a couple weeks, but it wasn't too bad driving around with the speedo off

205/40/17 on a MK4 is an instant fail. Throwing MK3 sized tires on a MK4 with significantly bigger wheel wells looks like complete ass. You can have the car slammed and almost laying subframe and still have wheelgap with that size (I have a serious hatred for 205/40/17s on any MK4 in case you haven't noticed)

It seems as though the offset of the DSIIs are +41 front and rear

                              195/45 front 205/45 rear.
205 is too wide for 7.5's
