I'm alright, I just have a minor chemical burn on the white part of my eye. The doctors said it was good I acted fast and washed it out properly, otherwise, I would have lost my eye Crazy part is, I was wearing rubber gloves and safety glasses. Things seem to be fine, but the intense burning in my eye sucks.
ummm yeah rubber gloves do nothing to aircraft stripper.....I had some that was was diluted with water splash up on my shorts.....few hours later i felt an odd breeze, look down and i have giant holes in my crotch....could've lost a lot more that day!

I have been wearing rubber gloves through the entire process, and have not had a single burn on my hands until I ripped one

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

They will protect for a bit, but it will eat through it at some point.

I've worked with the stuff for 3-4 hours at a clip and never been burned.

Well, I'm starting to enjoy the symptoms of either a continued burn or an infection... Sweeeeeet.

what exactly tools were you using for that wheel. just that rotary and that brush attachment? Because I'm working on the lips of and old set of starforms, and i'm hand sanding and feel like i'm not getting anywhere. After seeing your pics i just want to cry.

Hahaha, yes I am using a drill with a wire brush to get all of the pitting out. After that, I power sand with 240 grit then hand sand with 400, 600, and 800. I have about 12 hours into that one wheel.

so you don't recomend a powered sander for anything about 240? because I'm seriously considering something like this

                  or

for my 400 at least and possibly 800 and 1500 then 2000 by hand, because I've gotten to the point where i have no more calluses on my fingers just open nerve endings and sanding is becoming difficult

Jack your car up, put these wheels on your car, put it into gear. Makes polishing lips a ton easier.

I am power sanding with 240 (well, 236Q), then hand sanding with the rest.

Absolutely does; but since I need to have the center bores opened up on these, I am stuck keeping them on the ground.

Just bolt them down snug and be careful

Very nice. I did a very similar build with my RSs took way more time than I want to calculate. But, being able to take a picture like this after you're done is worth alllllllll the effort:
