I went up to 2000 and the shine is good, did you make sure you removed all the scratches from the previous grit before going higher? If you forgot some scratches the finish will be foggy

I'm only at 1500 ATM, did a couple test polishes and they looked pretty solid.

For those of you who polished your own lips- what should I go up to? As of now, it's 2000, but it doesn't seem like that's high enough. How much of a difference would 2500+3000 make? I can spare the extra 10$ if it makes a huge difference.

I began to polish my lips of my style 5's. Do you clearcoating your lips once polished?
I talked with a guy who's doing this as his job and he said me that an uncoated polished lip will corrode within a few days. He's able to clearcoat polished lips without any issues. What do you guy's think?

Mine have been bare metal for over a year now and they haven't corroded at all! Just wipe them down regularly and use metal polish on them every now and then!
