Sorry to thread jack some more but on the e46 for the rear you just had z4 shocks and stock z4 springs and on the front you had z4 struts and z4 h&r racing springs? Just curious bc I'm wanting to get coilovers soon but Idk that setup sounds pretty legit and it would be cheap...you can pm me if you wanna instead of jacking your thread up

The Z4 was made for those wheels. Those fit like a dream.

I'm on bagyards on all four corners. Currently working on new front strut hats and shortening all four struts so the damn thing sits lower.

Has anyone though of doing a set up for a bmw kind of like this? I know the suspension is a little different but maybe the same concept could be applied? I don't have pictures with shocks on but all you do is weld shocks to the frame and to the lower control arm.

You could, but It's the harder way to go about it, and it would only work in the rear.

Ok. I was just wondering. I know "the colour of money" benz 240d did something similar in front and back in his build. I'm just not that familiar with most cars front suspension coming from the truck world. Do you have a picture of the front suspension of an e28 by chance? If not I'll just try to find one. I just sold my truck and am buying an e28 buy the end of this week and I'm just trying to figure out a few things. I will probably just roll with cut springs for a while.

That is one sexy jetta. I've been thinking about getting one for a while. They are hard to find in Texas.

That's true. It is easy to find a rust free car here. And living in the DFW area there is a big selection of just about anything if you look hard enough.
