  • My New Hydraulic Build has Begun

Here is my one pump six dump Hydroholics setup that will be going in my Benz. I want to thank Aaron at Hydroholics for really helping me out through the process and definitely representing Hydroholics as the preeminent hydraulic establishment. I want to also thank my brother Derek for helping me find some tees that will set these accumulators off right! (not plumbed yet)

It's still being pieced together, but I spent the day yesterday over with Andy at All Day Fabrication in Surprise, AZ and he helped build me an insane pump rack worthy of such a unique setup. If anyone needs custom fabrication work, Andy is your man. His work is absolutely stellar and I couldn't be happier. Andy will also be building me a new battery rack in addition to a new trim panel for the trunk.

    Any questions? Ask...

LOVE the pump rack. I have no clue how I'm going to have my rack setup.

            Following this one for sure.

How many batts you will be running? Accums or coils?

I'm running 24 volts with Parker accumulators

Hydraulics are a nice alternative to air for the following reasons:

The 1-5/8" cylinder is much thinner than an airbag, and does not have the potential to rub and burst like an airbag would.

There is no compressor; power is always there when I need it

The high pressure heat-resistant lines are much more resilient than brittle air lines

It's unique since everyone is afraid to run them

The ride is great and I never bottom out since I have no much travel in the suspension

                        There are a few reasons...

Well, it's like anything else. You can buy the cheap stuff and have headaches down the road, or you can buy the good stuff, and be happy you spent the few extra shekkels.

It's about $2000 in parts give or take.

nice! in for more updates. although, it can go both ways. i wouldn't say those are advantages over pneumatic through...

if bag expansion is an issue, you can use air cylinders. for power, just toss in a high compression tank with helium or nitrous, instead of just the air tanks alone. some use the engine driven ac compressor for very fast refills. i agree with you on the air lines. in regards to pneumatics bottoming out, well thats largely the result of the design of the system. better shocks, length of the assembly, and pressure at the lowest hight would determine the ride.
