  • Which Brand is "Doing Work" In The Stance Scene?

Personally, I think the Volkswagen guys revolutionized the whole stance craze. Yeah, the VIP guys were probably the first to do it, but the VW crowd brought it to the main-stream.

All of us are going to be biased..

I'd say VW. When we were doing it on Vortex no one called it "stance". We just had one "slammed on 17s" thread forever and that turned into the only thread the stance guys would post in. And when StanceWorks was created I bailed completley

As far as originating, or more specifically, making "stance" mainstream, VW hands down in my eyes. Spring Show 'n' Go at Englishtown NJ '09 was a huge eye opener for me as far as stance/stretch/overall lowness goes.

As far as who's "doing work" now... thats hard to say. VW certainly still is, but now absolutely everyone is "stancing" their cars... and I love it

My vote is JDM. Whether it's a drift car or a VIP car, it's done right. I just love seeing a car with crazy stance getting ripped sideways at 100mph dragging sideskirts.

Edit: Anyone can stance a car but having crazy aggressive fitment while still being able to rip on the car is just plain awesome. My props go to the japanese. But if were just talking here in the states, I feel like everyone is getting their stance on..

you cant label or pin point it to a brand. every forum has had slammed cars and done their thing respectively. this "stance revolution" is simply a new label for it. the brand of car has absolutely nothing to do with it. its the people who drive the cars and conform them to this "stance revolution" style.

Being heavy into the VW crowd, I personally have taken a lot of inspiration from the JDM scene, no doubt the VW guys and the JDM guys will always have it on lock. But i think the VW community as a whole is starting to get the hang of this stance movement. Its not just a bunch of 18x8.5 +45 with a 235/40s anymore. My vote to VW for "doing it right..now"

I didn't see an option for iScrape, so I didn't vote. They and they alone are the true revolutionaries for bring Stance to the mainstream.
