vice grips + rag...clamp up high on the strut where you can then use a socket up top...take your time

i have used that method so many times when my impact couldnt spin fast enough to get the nut off

you just need enough leverage...find a tube thats a couple feet long and use that with your socket

head to your local autoparts store or harbor freight tools store and pick up a electric impact gun. they are cheap and it will do the trick. i have done it. good luck though.
