  • Dont know how you guys do it--- help- advice needed!!!

Okay guys... Heres a bunch of noob questions to stancing a car correctly...

So basically my Accord had Tien SS coils on it, on the lowest possible setting. It was pretty low... got rid of all gap but didn't really tuck... which is what I really wanted.

The tire sizes I'm running are big for the wheels...

    245/35 on a 9" rim up front
    285/30 on a 10.5" rim out back.

So I know thats problem number 1.

I decided to go with Ksport Coilovers because that allowed me to go lower... get that tuck that I want.

The rear belive it or not fits perfectly --- It has been rolled but I get zero rub and it tucks just how I want.

The front has been rolled, but theres not much there to roll... I mean not nearly as much as the rear. The fender liner has been trimmed and the car doesn't rub at all... when it is going straight.

TURNING is a completely different story. I mean just the slightest turn will rubb.. and It actually screwed up my right front fender a bit. So I temporarily raised the car a bit --- slightly lower than where the Teins were but not giving me that tucked look that I want anymore.

So I see you guys posting pics so tucked that some of ur wheels are in the fenders... How do you do it?

Camber settings right now are probably -1 or even closer to 0 than that.

A few things I'm considering doing...

225/35-20 tires.... Hoping a bit of stretch will provide some more clearance?

I want to get the alignment done and induce some more camber, but I'm not sure how much they'll be able to do beacuse the coilovers literally tuck the suspension so high up into the wheel well, my ball joint type camber kit may not give the alignment guy room to adjust em'--- dont know what to do on that front yet...

The fenders were rolled like I said, I guess perhaps they can be pulled out some more... but I'm not sure that will help as its not only rubbing up at the top of the fender... I'm going to go back to my fender rolling guy either way beacuse he needs to help me straighten out the one fender that was kinda messed up by the rubbing wheel.

I know that there is a price to pay to be that slammed, but the car still has to be driveable... I could barely make a right turn, slowly, without it rubbing.

    So--

    Step 1: skinnier tires.

Step 2: Try to do a little more negative camber.

Step 3: Try to pull the fender out a bit more....

Anyone have any other tips or suggestions?

This is my first time trying to slam a car this low...

Thanks for reading such a long post... and providing some help.

Do steps 1-3 and you should be in a MUCH better situation.

The fender pulling/rolling and skinnier tires can be done.

How important is the negative camber to the equation? I'd like to do it, but honestly dont know how my alignment guy will get in there.

If we 'raise' the suspension so his hands can get up to the top of the Upper control arm, he can adjust the camber, but when we lower it again, wont it screw up the alignment settings?

thanks again for the help fellas

if its an adjustable camber plate when you set it, it should not change when the car is lowered back down

ahh didn't think of that... makes sense... maybe this is the lowest i can safely go no matter what i do (and still be able to turn lol)

didn't post pics before cuz the car is filthy and didn't get a chance to wash it last night because i was wrapping up the new coilover install.

but for the sake of getting some more help/advice heres the pic as to where I'm at right now--- This height doesn't rub at all, even on turns....

Any lower though, and this happens:

                      More stretch, deffinately more stretch.

but for example, in my car, i know i cant turn full lock... I just kinda deal with that

Yea i mean i'm prefectly fine with a little rubbing, my problem is when its so bad it does to my fender what the pic above shows... i'm likely gonna have to go to a body shop to have that straightened out. :-(

                              I ordered up 225/35-20

technically not very stretched... its an 8.86" wide tire on a 9" wheel.

As apposed to what I have now hwich is a 245/35-20 which is technically 9.65" wide....

I didn't wanna go tooo stretched because I wasn't planning on changing the rear tire and i didn't want the front to be super stretched and the rear not at all.

I will stretch everything on my next wheel setup in a few months
