Can I just say that this is why I come here to SW? Intelligent, honest discussion about our passion for all things car related.

I have to say that the way your miata looked before spoke to me personally more than it does now, but it's not my car after all haha. Looking at the underglow, I realize that I miss that trend from the 90's/00's. It blew my mind when I saw it for the first time, and now that it's died down for the most part, it's nice to see it once in awhile. That sucks about overheating on the way to the track. Everyone here (including me) is dying to see footage of this thing slide and i think that's a really positive thing, so for sure feel good about that!

The philosophical debate behind the objectivity or subjectivity of art/design is an interesting and lengthy one. I personally come from the camp that believes that aesthetics are an objective, but nearly impossible-to-define set of rules which caters to a visual "right" and "wrong". A set of rules that can be sensed and registered in the human mind. Rather than the subjectivity that many people talk about, I personally feel that the variance in peoples' tastes comes from a difference in valuation of objective qualities rather than a simple difference in subjective tastes.

That's just me though. I've been in plenty of debates with others who have argued the opposing side just as well as my personal beliefs, so there's no saying which side is closer to reality.

You're right though...if we're all sharing the same love for cars we should all be able to relate to each other. That goes both ways whether it's a tagged miata or a clean benz on wheels.

Rally, can I ask what your educational background is? I went to a university specializing in conceptual arts, and it sounds like you might have done the same.... Or are we just the exact same person and destined to be besties

Slapping body parts on a car that you drift aka thrash + shitty spray paint + no artistic style or flow = clapped out.

Even if you post pictures of this thing full lock at 120km/h, its still going to look like a bucket of shit.

I understand that none of that would matter to you, the driver, as it would be a ball of fun, but to the viewer it would never look any better. Being "different from the norm" =/= "Ahead of the curve"

I'm not arguing that he answers in a dickish way. I honestly don't know if he is that way, or comes off that way. Dare I bring up Miles(aka Fabel)? Everyone thought he was a dick and he turned out to be one of the nicest guys people had met. I'm not defending the guy, I'm talking about the car.

The European car guys think that boso is overdone while Japanese car people think clean and fresh is played out. Thats all. to each their own. Oh, and just remember your'e only a hipster if you have black frame glasses, shoot film and have one or more of these things on you at one time, PBR, American Spirits, (2) apple products, and a fixie bike.
