Style choices aside, the execution is what's lacking in my eyes. The letter work, color choices, and overall composition of the work leaves a bit to be desired. I'm all for doing something different and doing what YOU want....but I'm also a strong believer that if something is worth doing, it's worth doing well. Style choices may be subjective to an extent, but visual execution and aesthetics are an objective realm.

With that said, if you're having fun with your car, keep it up. That's what we're all about.

Can only work with the skill level of the people doing it.

Tried to hire someone, couldnt find anyone. Turned to friends, and we had a GREAT time doing it.
Could it be ALOT better? Sure. But, couldnt find someone to pay, every artist flaked. So me and some friends threw down and just did it. The act of painting it is more important than the final product to me.
i think i worded it so it makes sense

Like I said, if you're having fun with it and it was a chance for you and your friends to get together and get your arts&crafts on, I fully support it.

If you want to talk about being ahead of the curve, put down others for having "boring" styling, or act like the car is a vast change from the norm, it's probably best done with a proper execution of the new trend that you're setting. I acknowledge that not everyone can be blessed with an artistic skill set, but it's probably smart to back up the 'holier than thou' attitude with talent and skill otherwise it comes off as a bit silly and pretentious.

We should all keep having fun and continue respecting each other for our shared passion....no matter how different the styling may be.

never said i was starting a style.
As you could have read, it was merely a phrase as in not in the norm.

I even went to state further about being stuck in the 90s or something, not going back to look.

But for someone to say it is "wrong" or "right" is where i have the problem. Cars are subjective and universal. thats the love.

The philosophical debate behind the objectivity or subjectivity of art/design is an interesting and lengthy one. I personally come from the camp that believes that aesthetics are an objective, but nearly impossible-to-define set of rules which caters to a visual "right" and "wrong". A set of rules that can be sensed and registered in the human mind. Rather than the subjectivity that many people talk about, I personally feel that the variance in peoples' tastes comes from a difference in valuation of objective qualities rather than a simple difference in subjective tastes.

That's just me though. I've been in plenty of debates with others who have argued the opposing side just as well as my personal beliefs, so there's no saying which side is closer to reality.

You're right though...if we're all sharing the same love for cars we should all be able to relate to each other. That goes both ways whether it's a tagged miata or a clean benz on wheels.

This might be the best car discussion I've seen on any internet forum. Good stuff. (not in sarcastic manner...i'm serious). It actually reads like adults talking as opposed to kids disagreeing with pic...oh..

Just would like to quickly add, there's a lot of work that goes into some of the euro cars beyond the common conception of "drop and wheels." Yes, its mostly bmw stuff, but adding euro parts, updated or different bumpers, styling bits from kamei, zender, etc; all make for a bit of differentiation, just not to the untrained eye, and a bit more restrained.

Please guys, do not attack other's cars out of spite, especially when you are making assumptions, or don't know whats gone into a car. We don't need to close another thread.

i wasn't saying he drove a merc on oem merc wheels im making a generalization about people calling his build shitty, when in fact they have never actaully built anything... believe me i drove a slammed mercedes in excellent condition on oem wheels, i got alot of respect for that car... Why? because i cut the springs iin half and installed wheels?! People lack these days to look whats under the paint and sometimes exterior of a car just because they only care about "fresh" paint and "Super Dope" wheels and dont realize what craftsmanship has gone into a car... It makes me sick that some can call this a shitty build because they arent all about the paint or the wing or tail-lights ( non of which i am a fan of, besides the wing haha) when in fact thius car screams awesome, If it had ccw's and a simple pearl paint job he would be scoring features all over, but obviosuly the owner doesn't care to be in "the cool kid crowd" he just does him and does quality work and to get what... His build called shitty? It's just ignorance thats all a bunch of rich whiney kids being ignorant...
