What's up everyone, I'll be taking my b5 s4 to vermont for a snowboarding trip with some friends in january and am having some mixed thoughts on my wheel setup. Currently on:

and am a little skeptical about putting on my winter setup (dunlop wintersport 3d's) but two of the tires are bald and i'm not throwing $340 for two new tires right now.

Was thinking about just keeping these on my car and just watch the forecast for vermont the days i'll be there.. does anyone have any experience with a slammed car in harsh winters on falken 512's. I know, I know, not the best tire but it's gotta be better than 2 bald tires. Falkens were put on in the summer so they only have 1500 miles on them.

I'm gonna have to raise the car up 1/4" in the front and 1/2" in the rear to account for the extra weight of 4 people and all our shit.. but I'm just looking for some insight. TIA

    Food for thought:

They sucked cause your subframe was pushing all the snow and tires barely got traction, ask me how I know

sidenote, stance works is great cause people actually respond and converse rather than the assclowns on audizine that just look at pictures, maybe read, then press back and go on their merry way.

If your don't have reaction, which you won't. Awd is not going to make that big of a difference.

If I don't have reaction? Traction? It'll make a huge difference than rwd, are you serious.

I have proxes 4's on an S4 and they suck even with the awd. all directional tires suck in the snow imo. Being slammed really doesnt help either, I know its against religion but the higher you raise it the better off your gonna be.

                        Traction. lol
Obviously awd will be better than rwd but not by that much. Summer tires suck in snow, and there is no way around it.
Basically this will come down to how much experience you have driving in extreme conditions. I might be wrong but you dont seem to be too comfortable with driving in such conditions if you had to make this thread. Please dont take it as me talking crap about you!!!
                        Good luck on your journey!

Damn, I figured that was the case with the tires. I have no problem raising it up a little, that's what the plan is right now. Just hope it doesn't snow more than 4 or 5 inches

Haha I'm comfortable driving in the conditions when I've had snow tires on, not all seasons. This thread is to see how other peoples cars have driven slammed in snow. I don't think I'll have too much of a problem unless there is a lot of snow.

In this case you should be good to go! Driving in snow is fun.
