I decided to build a bigger motor for the beetle So I sold the 25 hp (not original to the car) engine to a guy in Belgium, and started to collect parts for the new engine!

My plan is to build a 1641cc mild street engine with enough power to keep up with the trafic. I ordered a W110 engle camshaft and lots of other bits and pieces from the US of A. I'm still waiting for the pacage, but in meanwhile I collected some stuff and worked on the crankcase and cylinder heads

Last week i got these baby's in the house (Weber 36 IDF)

A real bargain! (80 euro's)

Yesterday I sandblasted my cylinderheads. Always nice to work with clean parts


I will slightly tune the inlet en exhaust ports on the heads to increase airspeed and flow. Free horsepower

I agree with you on the 2 splines in the back, but just because he still has shock towers doesnt mean its only narrowed 2". You can actually get beams up to 4" narrowed with shock towers now. I personally had a 4" narrowed beam on my bug with shock towers. Required no cutting to the body of car or anything

I'd guess that his beam is 3.5" or 4" narrowed from the type of shock towers he has and how close they are to the inner wheel well

Yep! Beam is narrowed 4" Good enough for me!
I have CB-Performance dropped spindels wich have a 1/5" offset. And I mounted diskbrakes (5x130 Porsche patern) on the front.
