  • Rusting solution...

    My first post here

I've got a 1993 vw polo coupe and I'm in the process of sanding down the whole body to make a rusty appearance (influenced by rusty the e28),

My question to you guys is what can I use as a rusting solution?

I'm uk based so try and give me some ideas that can be bought here

    Thanks Marcus )

    1.) Sand the body
    2.) Spray Water
    3.) ???????
    4.) Profit.

But seriously, don't rust your car just because. If you're sanding down the entire body you could have the first step to a nice paint job, ya heard?

The solution is to leave the paint on it.

get the galvanisation off with a grinding disc, then just leave it for a natural rust. salt water helps.

In rusty build thread the owner mentions a rusting solution?

And also I've done one of the front wings today. Is there a difference in what the non galvanised body and the galvanised is? Is it the grey sort of primer?

Don't rust it. Rusty was done because the car was already totaled, he didn't take a perfectly good car and then rust it. Repaint it if the paint is in rough shape.
