Got the engine shut off in time, its fine. Wood hit pan perfectly, cleared everything on and in the pan other than the pan itself.

StatusRacing, that post made me laugh hard.

            Cars all sounded absolutely amazing.

Was hoping that the shop would be represented at Wekfest but didn't notice any of the cars there.

Overall ended up being a good weekend, other than the 11 hour total drive to the hotel.
Holy shit, dude. That sucks so bad. Still haven't talked to Marilynn about it, but I should be able to smuggle you a Motor Union t-shirt or two. PM me your guys' sizes.

And we chose not to do Wekfest. First and foremost, there was way too much going on with us trying to organize our first event. That, and we wanted to have a little fun that weekend.

All the cars looked and sounded awesome as you guys left. I'm already planing on bringing my next car out for some work.

We were really hoping to see some of your cars at Wekfest since we missed MotorUnion, but like you said you guys had a lot going on that weekend.

I did have to laugh when I saw the pictures posted up from the event, the last picture was taken pretty much right as we rolled up.
                I drive a Focus.

                  Lol you guys are awesome.

Like Matchbox said the cars sounded sick. I'd love to come have you guys do an exhaust for me, but the car is even close to being worthy yet.

Understandable about the busy weekend. Glad MotorUnion was a success, and love the pics of Gold Wheels tearing it up in the city. Definitely coming to the next one, and I swear we'll make it on time.

Makes the effort of swapping engines to increase oil pan clearance and to get rid of the aluminum pan sooooo worth it.

Well done on the smashage, atleast it looks epic haha. I remember smashing a dead animal, seeing my lip in pieces flying through the air in my rear view, and fixing a bloody cracked alu pan on the side of the road after. Dry sump? :p

Of the factory engines offered in the Focus, this line's oil pans sit the highest. On the second trip out to Chicago we discussed a design of sort of like a cow catcher to guard the pan. As is the pan sits high enough that it doesn't hit things. The car scrapes quite a bit but this was the first time the oil pan was involved.

Not so bad then I wasn't so lucky with my cars original, and any bmw engine swap would have made the pan lower. Front sump alu pan is not low friendly, used to roll that pan about an inch off the ground
