Meh, I think SW is still pretty **** free. With more members, comes more conflict. Everyone is a dick every once in a while especially when passionate about something. I find myself being an ass sometimes when certain things annoy me but I realize it and try to tone it down. We just need to take the focus off the negativity. If you don't like something, I feel you should say so in a constructive way and we can ALL move in a positive direction. Same goes for the the person it's directed to. You should take the criticism and say how you feel about it instead of ignoring it or throwing it back in their face and stirring shit up more.

That's because when you joined the cars were fresher, and there weren't as many threads with "CHECK MY E36 OUT", not saying you did that, (you haven't so I'm not talking any shit to you), but there was original content coming everyday, and there weren't as many kids who thought they were hot shit with their freshly lowered cars. Buts as more kids came along, and the content became more of the same, attitudes changed as well, (as you would expect). Don't worry there are a few places on here that are the same, and if you come to us with something original and truly awesome, that same SW you knew before is still there, it just takes a little more than a drop and style 5s to get the same reaction.Originally posted by Jardine View Postlmao, I was thinking the same thing...it's all good though.
anyway, to respond back to that guy a few posts up ^^ I actually do have a 'dgaf' attitude...some people tell me i'm a little too care-free. It just bothers me sometimes that the whole internet asshole thing has just become 'normal' to everyone. I've joined a ton of forums, and SW is by far my favourite. When I first joined it I couldn't believe that there were almost no jerks, and everyone was diggin' what everyone else was doin'...so it kinda sucks to see the way some people on here treat eachother lately.
But hey, my car isn't my life...I don't take it too personal. Thanks again for the comments, guys.

Well I guess rolling around looking like an dope is a price you have to be for being unique and being remembered on the internet. There are probably 5 stanced e36s in your area (random guess)? Are any of them on style 5s? Have many e36s on style 5s have you seen in person at meets? How many outside of car enthusiast specific meets/shows/gatherings?
Your car seems unique and cool to a couple of people on the internet but silly to a lot of others on the internet and probably absolutely stupid to 95% of the people you pass on the streets. That's my take on internet "uniqueness" I guess.Last edited by kramerbuccs24; 06-22-2011, 02:34 PM.

I don't like it. Props for doing what you wanted to do, and not giving a shit what others say (well kinda). I think there are many other color options you could have gone with, but whatever, your car, your choice.
FUCKING LOL at some posts in here.
I'd like to see the white centers, with a non-colored lip, but that's just my humble view on it.
And btw Nick was the kid with Ronald as his profile picture, not the kid talking shit. Just thought that should be cleared up.

LOL I still like it, my friend doesn't.Originally posted by ChrisVRsix View PostSo you go from "I really like it", too posting a conversation you had with http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/member.php?u=8570 about how the op is a "faggot" because of his choice in wheel colour. This just proves how people these days conform to whatever the crowd is saying, when you first saw it, you really liked it, now that you see your buddy thinks its ugly, you change your mind, like a sheep, following other sheep.
As for the OP, thing looks nasty rolling down the street and in person. Hooray for doing something that YOU like, polished style 5's are dope, but its nice to see something different every once in a while.
It was a joke... if someone was talking about my car outside of StanceWorks I'd take it as a compliment, even if it's ****. Like he said himself, silver style 5's don't stand out, this does. What happens when something stands out? People talk about it.
People need more of a dgaf attitude. I'd laugh it off and move on with my life, whether he said faggot or not.
I STILL LIKE YOUR CAR OP.

op
i'm not too sure what to think of it
i like the color scheme (though the yellow is a bit much
maybe if it was red barrels, white insides it would look better i don't know
props for being different!
I joined this site over a year ago, and I used to love coming on here because it seemed like a bunch of people who actually love cars, respect everyone, and were super chill. I guess in the last little while, things have changed...
Thanks for comment though, and to all the others with similar comments!

I expected negative comments, but some people on here are just ruthless. I appreciate constructive criticism (like yours) just as much as a positive comment. But when someone just says, "no, just no" or "wtf", it just shows there level intelligence.Originally posted by Ollie View PostSo now you're modding your car to be remembered by people on the internet?
LOL I kid. Some of the comments were unnecessary but you did say you expected the negative comments so I don't see what the big deal is. Plus I just gave you my opinion and some advice and you just brushed it off. My main piece of advice that you will probably ignore is that if you really want to come close to pulling that off, you need to go much lower.
I just want to add though, that there are many people on this site who contribute absolutely nothing to the good of StanceWorks...Reading the comments through this thread alone can give you an idea what I mean.
Thanks again to the people who liked it, or even the ones who dislike it; but appreciate that it's something different. As for the center cap question, I am looking for a set, but they never come up for sale!

nice back-handed insult to people who don't have terrible taste.Originally posted by Jardine View PostAlso, thanks to those who took there time to say something negative...Hope it makes you feel better about your super clean OEM+ cars.
i agree the name-calling was uncalled for, but don't post random tri-color wheels on a discussion forum and get upset when people tell you what they think.

So now you're modding your car to be remembered by people on the internet?Originally posted by Jardine View PostFirst off, I didn't do these wheels to look like McDonalds...I got a ridiculous deal on already red powdercoated barrels, and went from there with the white/yellow. I noticed afterwards it is a similar colour scheme, and I found it funny.
Thanks to all those who appreciate what I've done. Also, thanks to those who took there time to say something negative...Hope it makes you feel better about your super clean OEM+ cars.
I don't mod my cars to be an 'anti-conformist'. I mod cars the way I like to, and it just so happens it isn't the way the majority of the people do. Why is it either you mod a car like the rest of people, or do something to not conform? How 'bout I do whatever I want, and it gets recognized as unique? If I wanted polished style 5s, like almost everyone else with style 5s, I could have them.
No one remembers the boring old E36 lowered on silver style 5s...Everyone will remember the lowered E36 on ugly red/white/yellow style 5s
On that note, one more for the fans
