  • My new DD projekt.

Heres some quick snaps I took with my HTC Evo.

    1974 Mercedes 240D 4 Speed standard.

It is in pretty good shape overall. No rust, decent interior, couple little dings on the body.

I am going to cut the springs for now, got other plans for the suspension in the near future, but I have to get some issues worked out first with the drivetrain.

I was driving home and I shifted and the clutch stayed on the floor. Pulled it up and it does nothing. I'm not sure yet whether it is the slave cylinder, master cylinder, or the clutch. Tomorrow I am going to bleed the slave cylinder and see if that helps. If not, then I will probably just replace all three parts. Other than that I may need to do a few other maintenance tasks, but after that its all stance. I love it. Had a blast driving it the 2 hour drive home.

Looks great man, heating benz springs is better because it makes them harder.

        i have a w126 300SDL i'm working on right now

diesel is the future man, my 300SDL gets 702mi to a 20gal tank

is this your first diesel Mercedes.

Ya. It is my first. So far it looks like I'm fucked too. I should have looked it over better before I bought it. The body and interior being in such good shape just got me too excited, along with it being a rare 4 speed. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. On top of the clutch failing it looks like the engine is leaking oil. I think I might buy my grandpas 80's caprice 4 door off of him and daily it for now and just work slowly on rebuilding or swapping the engine and transmission. I am still happy with it. It will be lookin good before long.

This caprice is what has made me really want one. Idk if it's just me, but this thing looks pretty siq. My grandpas is white with a grey top im pretty sure. Just drop it and put some staggered Impala SS rims on it. Maybe put some of that mind yo business on it too.

              Good luck finding nice ones...

400 euro OEM price in NL for every bumper part so 800 for the back bumper
inside bumper costs about 180 euros...

I dont know the front because i didnt ask for that... because somebody slammed into the back of my benz recently...

I dont like the one that much. Shaved handles is a mistake. Too much body and the handles look fine in the first place, they help break up the flowing body IMO. I really like "the colour of money" car I like a lot. It's pretty tight. I like it with the darker paint job it has now.

The euro bumpers are hard to find, but its possible. Just will take some time. I'm in no hurry. Will be a long time before it's finished, if it ever will be... Since all of the problems it might be getting parked for a while so I can tear it down and find anything that needs fixed. I was thinking about a caprice, but I might get a Volvo 960 or 850. Who knows. Somethings got to happen in the next week.

Oh, dam. Ya probably not. I'm strapped for cash at the moment. I got to get another car for my DD more than likely, then I have to start getting parts just to get this bitch running again. Thanks for the offer though.
