This car ended up being a piece of junk and has caused me more than a few headaches...
The through the fall and winter this car has been in and out of the repair shop from many reasons:
Cracked oil pan at stock height
A very needed brake job
Brake warning light
Brake warning light again
Airbag light
Airbag light again
Seized lock cylinder
Broken key (The only one I had)
Key programing at VW
Clutch
Flywheel
and many more things that I was able to mend myself.
The good news is that it is still a great commuter car...
It gets about 43 miles to the gallon on the Connecticut back roads that I commute on.
I found out that it has a 2004 engine, which is cool I guess. It's good for 20 more horsepower or something...
It now has some upgrades like a skid plate, and some aesthetic modifications.
I'll take some pictures when I get it back from the garage this week.
It looks even more like a piece of junk, but it's cooler than stock.
I'm working on a deal for some cheap, played out wheels.
I plan to be good to go for the UConn car show on April 9th. That's the plan anyway...
So with my commute this year, and my M3 getting on the back burner, I needed a practical daily.
So I went to go look at a TDI in Vermont today, and drove it home (It averaged 43mpg on the way)
It's a little rough around the edges, but it should do the job.
I plan to leave it stock through the winter at least...
...then I will start thinking about air
I'm new to VWs in general, so any help would be appreciated.
