      I believe this is what your trying to achieve... custom welded metal fender flares made to look almost factory.

      I have seen the build thread on this car, and while you wouldn't guess much fender work has been done.. quite a bit of metal has been added to give the flare that much extension.. methinks you are about to embark on a similar journey to obtain the fitment you seek.

          ^That white TL looked perfect yesterday, I am very much against extended fenders for the most part but his looked fantastic.

                  wow, i didnt know anything this dope existed in fl lol. If you could achieve what the flares do in metal, this would be one of the hardest miatas on earth.

                            hey guys. i got at it today! i made templates, cut out my steel, and and started rolling on the English wheel i. trimmed them up and tack welded one on. it was a long day.

                              note: the bottom of the flair where it meets the bumpr will get trimmed and fit with a stud on the back side of the flair to pull it in tight. also there will be a 1/8th inch rod welded on the outside of the flair so it has a nice round edge.
