  • miata re-fit, paint, and god knows what else...

alright boys and girls this is my miata project. i bought the car in oct 09' it was a bone stock 10ae wich means its numbered, has a 6sp and torsen diff. all of them where blue with blue and black int, and a blue soft top.

    here is a stock pic.

from there i tried a set of raceland coilovers and bought some 15x9 6ul's

after that i stepped up to vmaxx coilovers (wich are deff. better) and work equips.

then i decided to go with a bomex aero kit and a carbon hardtop.

now its time for change again.. i sold the the equips and ordered 15x10 and 15x12 jlines offsets are +0f/+10r. the jline thing was going to be a secret, but what the hell. i also have another new bomex front bumper.

i started trimming my rear quarters for the twelves. i cut the "reliefs" out of the inside of the quarters and started pulling them out with a slide hammer and a roller. im going to have to re-work the metel some more when the wheels arrive (if ever) i will show my metel work body work and paint work as i re-vamp my baby.

p.s. this is what i do for a living.

didnt bring the car home today. instead i threw on one of my brothers wheels. 15x10 -25 diamond racing wheel. 195/50 stretched on it. i put it on the rear first it sat right on top of the tire. which worries me because my 15x12 +10 would stick out another 15mm. probally a whole inch including tire. i brought the slide hammer out again and pulled some more. then uses a hammer and dolly to give it some shape again. i also added a shit ton of camber. i got it to the point that it would roll, i had to trim another 1/4 inch off the inside fender well. the front just took a hard pull. after all this i threw the flairs on just for fun. heres the pics...

i dont really want to use these flairs. im gonna talk to my fab guy at work tomorrow and see what we can come up with. i like the way the flairs look im just not much for the frp that close to my tires, and i like a smoother look. i dont do the mold frp to steel stuff.

be different and do some custom metal flares.. if you have access to a fab guy, then I'm almost inclined to say, "you have no excuse." ;0

I think this has the potential to be one of the most aggressive NB's out there, especially when your talking about custom J-Lines... execution will be everything though.
